I use this for vinyl transfer as it doesn't stick as much.

This tape worked great with permanent vinyl. I was laying it on a surface that was not easy to stick to, so I needed a medium tack so I can pull it apart. Great transfer tape, I will buy it again. This tape is priced really good.

It has a habit of coming loose in the Glowforge while printing. It needs to be just a little more sticky

Did not even pretend to stick to anything I applied it to, lifted or blew off during laser cutting. Worse than no layer at all, loose pieces, fire danger, burn marks, avoid.Final kick in the teeth is the 11.75†measurement, not even able to fully protect 12â€.

The quality and performance of the tape is 5 stars. But I'm giving this listing 3 stars because of the highly misleading photo used. Pay careful attention to the listed length; it is a tiny fraction of what is shown in the picture. Mea culpa, I know, but there is also no non-shady reason to use such a misleading photo. The price-per-length is actually rather bad compared to buying a longer roll, which I recommend you do.As to the tape itself, this stuff is a must-have for laser cutting and engraving. I use it on all my wood cutting/engraving projects (such as with Baltic birch). It protects the wood around the cut/engrave from being stained by the smoke, and leaves you with perfectly crisp edges and excellent contrast. Look at the difference in the attached photo. Look at it! Identical laser job, the only difference being the one on the left was a bare board and the on the right was with a layer of tape on top during cutting. The one on the left looks like garbage in comparison, so it boggles my mind that this sort of masking is not mentioned in every single tutorial. The adhesive isn't super strong on this, it's a medium tack. And that's *good*. High tack would be too difficult to remove and can rip out chunks of the wood surface. A low tack will peel away from the edges of a cut/engraving, allowing smoke to leak underneath. Medium tack for wood is where it's at. Another tip is for a wood with some surface texture, like most boards you'll buy for laser-cutting, the tape will peel up from the as-delivered surface. So just give the surface a light sanding to smooth it out (e.g., a 200-300 grit works well for me) and the tape adheres flawlessly.Seriously, look at the comparison picture. It's like a cheat code for stellar-looking laser cuts!

This stuff is amazing. I use this to mask my wood for laser cutting. I had so many problems finding good masking that didn’t leave my projects burned. I discovered this stuff from a YouTube video and it is exactly what I was looking for. I’ve bought more and will continue to buy more. I did find this cheaper on the actual website though.

I have been looking for this for a long time. My dad always used a tape type product when he did vinyl but I could never find it until now. I love this stuff it is so much easier to use than the vinyl type of transfer tape.

I use this for covering wood and other materials before laser etching and cutting to protect the wood from smoke discoloration, and it works flawlessly!! I can lay it down and adjust it easily. it comes off easy without leaving glue residue behind. On the intricate detailed etchings, I just rub the tape off with my fingers. Great product!! Thanks!!Do you thing you can make this in black? For the laser, it helps with the engraving of reflective material like gloss whites.
