This tile saw is well made, cuts well and accurately, and doesn't make a mess. I'm very happy with the purchase. The packaging leaves a little to be desired. My saw was not damaged, but I can see how many of the reviews mentioned broken water fittings, or other problems. In mine, the parts and pieces not yet attached (the saw comes mostly assembled, but there are a few fittings and screws to put in place) were rattling around in the box, and it's lucky they were all there and not lost in delivery or in unpackaging. Mine came through without a blade, but a call to Grizzly confirmed that it should have one, and a replacement was sent immediately. Excellent, US-based customer service, too- very helpful and friendly. I can't speak to the quality of that blade- I've got a large project going and know I'll burn through more than one blade, so I mounted one of the other blades I had on hand first. Those being the only, minor drawbacks, everything else is positive. The saw is built like a brick outhouse, especially compared to other models at or just below this price-range. I expect with a small bit of care, this saw will last a lifetime. I have no experience with a truly high-end tile saw, but I have used 4 or 5 other saws on different occasions, and this one beats those hands down. I don't see a lot that would be improved upon with a significantly more expensive model, either. The water pump is powerful, provides good flow, and the delivery is well controlled- I do not get soaked using this saw, and while I've done all my cutting to date outside, I would not hesitate to use this indoors with some minor precautions. I can't say that about any other saw I've ever used- I'm used to getting drowned, and making a complete mess. That's just not the case with this one.The tile I've done so far has all been large-format slate, which cut like a dream- not a single chip or break. I've got some porcelain to do next week, so if my experience with that is different, I'll update. 24" tiles can be cut on this, but you have to ride them over the top of the back-bar, and cut 2/3 or so through, and then reverse and cut from the other end. Not a significant problem- it did the trick fine for me.Draining and clean up was easy. Use a pallet or a couple of 2x4s as a table, and you can just position a bucket underneath the drain hole and pull the plug. It takes exactly 3 gallons of water to fill up the reservoir.I suggest lubricating the slide bars periodically to keep the saw moving well, and watch the slide bar locking screw- on full length cuts, the water tubing tended to pull on one side of the handle and tighten it over the course of 3 or 4 cuts. Just loosen it when necessary, or remove it altogether while using- it's really only needed for transport.All-in-all, I'm very happy with this purchase and recommend it without reservation, especially at the sub-$300 price point.

This is a pretty nice saw. I don't have experience with any other saws so I can't tell you exactly how it compares, but I'll tell you what I like and don't like about this one.The saw seems plenty powerful, I haven't had issues making any cuts. The water flow is appropriate and keeps the blade and tile well lubricated and cooled. I like that the tile clamps in place when you cut and I like that the blade is on a track. That keeps you from moving the blade side to side and getting a sloppy cut. Clamping the tile in place ensures more of the same. You don't have to be a skilled tile worker to get good cuts out of this saw. It's also pretty large for an overhead saw design. I've fit tiles in it that were about 20 inches long and it cut them no problem. It also has two separate clamps or guides, so you can clamp down a tile straight or at an angle.Downsides:Lots of reviewers complained about the blade so I bought a bosch blade when I got it. I can't say anything one way or another since I didn't actually use the blade though. The track/bar that the saw runs on is not a very smooth motion. You can tell they used cheap bearings on this part. I don't have any doubts about the longevity of it, it seems solidly built, but the movement isn't very smooth by default. If you're not careful you can jerk it one way or another and you'll chip your tile. I got some pretty thick grease(gear oil for an electric trimmer), and slathered it on the bar and the movement got a lot smoother. It's still not really what I would like but it works fine and doesn't get hung up anymore. I do wish it came with some grease like this, but I'd recommend buying grease also so you don't muck up any cuts. This isn't really a design flaw, but this saw is big and messy. The tile dust stays pretty well contained in the water, but the water splashes out and makes a big mess. I'd recommend using this in your yard somewhere. I ran it on my deck and I still have tile dust there after hosing it off several times. I need to get a brush and scrub it. This is an issue with any wet saw I'm sure, but something else to think about. The main issue with this saw is that since the tile has to sit in the saw and be clamped in to be cut, you can't cut any tile longer than the saw. I was able to get around a 20 inch piece of tile in there. Any bigger and you can't do it. That seems large, but once you decide to get 6x36 faux wood tile, then you see why it's not great. Locking a tile in place is great for most cuts, but if you get the table saw type saw you can cut any size tile you want. So you will likely want a tile nipper or angle grinder or something to do more precise or custom cuts.Summary:My understanding is that grizzly industrial tries to make tools that have features generally reserved for high end tools but to do it at more reasonable prices. I think they've done a fine job of that here. This saw is by no means perfect, but it's worked really well for what I need and I'd buy it again if I had it to do over.

What a find. Grizzly has provided a professional grade tile cutter for the average DIYer. Compared to other products out there for around this price, your getting a solidly built cutter for under $250. When looking for a replacement tile saw from my 10 year old big box plastic type, used only 3 times in 10 years, I needed to find something that would hold up to a significant sized DIY job and thankfully I found this product as nearly all the other options in this price range were the cheap plastic tray type that one must push the tile through the blade which I have found leave average at best bevel cuts and spray water all over the user which makes a mess. This product lets the user pull the blade over the tile and does so with ease. Big advantage, the water to cool the blade doesn’t spray out onto the user and actually I have found it’s the cleanest surface I have ever used for tiling based on its design which is a big benefit when tiling in semi finished areas to reduce dust and spray back. Great product that I can’t imagine I will ever need to buy another tile cutter as this thing is built really solid. Only thing I would say is a small negative is its weight but again with almost all tools, weight usually equates to better build quality. Don’t look any further than this product and do yourself the favor and spend a few more bucks to get into this tile cutter over the cheaper plastic ones, you won’t regret it.
