The towing light kit worked exactly as promised. The wiring harness was more than long enough for a small front wheel drive. I just drove 3000 miles from southern Arizona to the northeast and they performed exactly as promised, if not better. The LEDs are super bright, and the magnets are more than strong enough to hold. I added backup lines just in case the magnets failed, but come to find out that wasn't necessary. They held strong, through rain, snow, heat, and cold.

These seem like a quality item. Wiring appears sturdy, magnets are fairly strong, lights are bright and work well.My gripes are that for my application, the wire between the lights is nowhere near long enough for the variety of potential uses this might see. It could easily be twice as long and one could bundle up the excess with a zip tie. In my only use so far of these lights, I had to place them on a horse trailer and there was no room for the right side one because of the short cable, so the right one ended up having to get placed on upside down on the trailer upper door frame and due to the orientation on the wire coming from the left hand light (leading to the right) that light could only be mounted on the left hand side of the rear frame. I had to rig up a way to secure the lights (just in case) with reuseable zip ties. Due to the placement of the right hand light being upside down, and the torrential rain on my trip home, I discovered a few days later that the right hand light housing was half full of water which had infiltrated in.These lights are not 100 percent water resistant. I had to repeatedly drain the light by tilting it, then leaving it set on a table at an angle. After that, I used a squeeze bottle to put rubbing alcohol into the wire opening in order to displace leftover water, then drain all of that back out.Next opportunity, I will likely seal the openings with RTV Sealant and maybe see if I can splice in additional wire or even add a male and female connector in between the lights. One final gripe is that these lights have no storage container or bag. My solution to that was to buy one of the Apache plastic cases from Harbor Freight and size the pluck and peel foam to the lights. That will keep the lights secure and from breaking when not in use. Throw in a few reuseable zip ties and you're good to go.

Bought these because the smaller boat we were towing we were borrowing and the last time we used it caused us a whole bunch of problems with our SUV because of the electrical of the light kit that was already on the trailer. So we just wanted something temp. to tow the boat. while these are not water proof and we needed to take them off every time we put the boat in the water and put them back on when we were done it was well worth not having to go through what we went through the last time. They were very easy to put on and take off and while they are magnetic we did used electrical tape to be on the safe side while on the highway to make sure they wouldn't fall off. I feel this is a great produce for the price and for what we used them for. Had the boat and trailer been ours we would have been willing to put on a new water proof permanent towing lights but since they're not this worked out perfect and we can use them over and over each time we borrow it.

I came very close to buying a couple other cheaper ($20-$40) trailer lights but putting something back on the trailer that was the same quality (and started failing in under 1 year) didn't make sense. I also needed a solution quickly so Amazon Prime 2 Day was a nice option and combined with the zero install for these lights the choice was obvious. The lights arrived by 10am on the second day and work great. The magnets really impress me and I have no concerns about them staying on. The wire is a heavier gauge than the existing trailer lights as well. I will eventually replace the permanently mounted ones but these lights are going behind my truck seat for when a light fails or I tow a vehicle in the future.I purchased these lights because of the review on them, so I felt inclined to pay that back by posting my own.

Guess I missed the tech spec that said it was only 5 feet between lights. Didn't help me much on a 7-foot wide trailer. I had to splice wire in so I could use it. Other than that, seems to work ok. Hasn't fallen off on bumpy roads on an empty trailer with no suspension.

Initial review:History:This is my third set of magnetic lights. The first ones were a set of Horrible Fright ones that lasted about a week. Nothing newsworthy or surprising there. My second set were the Pit Bull Chil 003 (PB's) sold here on Amazon. The PB's are ok quality lights and worked, well, o.k. I managed to break a wire on a piece of brush near the plug and tried then to splice it. The Chinese wire quality was so poor that the braided copper wire disintegrated in my hands while splicing. I had to splice all 4 of the wires instead of just the one broken wire and solder them together. Very poor quality wire to say the least. Extremely brittle and minimal thickness/conductivity.Current:That leads me to these Grote lights. Since I haven't used these lights yet I just will give you the initial impressions. The light/magnet are heavy. That's a good thing. They probably weigh double what the PB's did. The magnets are MUCH better than the PB's and very solid. They are also a little lower in height than the PB's. The wiring casings are twice as thick and heavy as the PB's. Though I haven't cut into the wires, I can assume they are not only a tougher outer casing, but a thicker (heavier gauge) wire as well. After I give these lights a workout, I will update the results.-*Update*After towing for about 1000 miles I can say these lights are excellent. Not once did the light magnets slip, not even on 4x4 rough trails. The wiring harness is stout and the lights are bright. These are worth the 5 stars they received. (Note: I was NOT paid nor did I receive free lights to try. I paid for them, just like you will if you want good lights).

The lights were very easy hook up to our rv. They work great. I love that they only luminate out of the back and not both sides like a lot do.
