A very good dulcimer. Nice sound, looks good, well made, good action and sustain. The only flaw is in the strings it comes with. The middle string is thinner than the melody strings, making it harder to tune in the most frequently used tunings. DAD etc. The card enclosed with it suggests a CCF tuning, which I suppose is used in Europe. Outside of this (very easy to fix with new strings) minor problem, it is quite good looking and sounding. Extremely easy to learn to play. The case is also very well done, fitting perfectly and having a handy pocket pouch for picks and noter or extra strings.

I'm a beginner on dulcimer and wanted something that looked and sounded nice, stayed in tune, and came with a case. This hit all three of those criteria.

The dulcimer is a very good low end instrument to learn with. The base D string was rusted when it arrived. Changed the string and realized the string quality greatly improved. Not a bad deal all in all.

Loving the sound of this dulcimer I had a seagull merlin and it didn't quite have this sound that the hourglass applecreek does. The instruments great happy to have it.
