As a veneer, the material is plenty thick and substantial. It has somewhat limited ductility. It could probably be wrapped around a 1" dowel (your thumb), but much smaller than that and it will fracture. I think this would very rarely be an issue, but it means you cannot wrap it around a sharp edge of a cabinet. There is no guidance from the manufacturer about the acceptable temperature to set the iron. One reviewer was concerned that the banding could melt if the iron were set too high. However, Melamine is a thermoset, meaning it will not melt. It will decompose at about 650°F. It is also very resistant to ignition, and its ignition temperature is greater than 930°F. A typical electric iron will reach a temperature not greater than 450°F, so you do not need to worry about melting, or igniting the material. No need to put a layer of cloth between the banding and the iron. I don't know the melting point of the adhesive. Standard hot melt glue is dispensed at about 380°F. I also found the banding to be very forgiving, which I really appreciate. This means that if the banding is misplaced, you can simply reheat it, and move it, or remove it.I set the iron on cotton. The adhesive melted quickly, and set quickly enough that the band stayed in place. It was easy to trim with a razor blade. The stuff is really good, and easy to use.

The product came on time, matched my materials (White) and was easy to install. I used a double sided cutter and there were no tears or issues. I suggest that if your banding 3/4 material to order 7/8 banding. That’s what I did and it worked perfectly.

We just did some new melamine shelving in a closet but needed this edging to complete the edges of the boards. Applying the edging is very easy. You only need an iron on about 400 degrees(cotton setting). It adheres to the board quickly. I was skepitcal at first putting this on, figuring it would be harder to apply but was pleasantly surprised how easy it was. There may be a small learning curve but nothing too much. I tried to take pictures of the edges so you can see how nicely this banding works.

I put these on a Murphy bed. It looks great, it is easy to put on. However, it is very brittle. You can easily snap it by accident. For example, I was handling the Murphy bed to install it in place and lots of places the banding broke off. However, I can see this being good for low traffic areas.

It worked on my 40 year old cabinet, where the original strip had come undone. I don’t have an iron, so I used my steamer instead. 3/4 inch was the perfect size.Very happy with the results â£ï¸

As long as I was careful with alignment, this tape fitted exactly my kitchen shelving thickness. I only had to sand a bevel to finish. Glue was good, I just used a cheap iron.Very happy with the result.

This product works great. Cut the strip, put it on and set your iron to wool and iron dry on top of the tape and it glues right on.
