With no way of knowing how different types of deck tape will hold up over time, nor how well they will seal around screws, I'm basing this off of the installation ease. Simply put, this tape is so much better than other deck tape I've used. I was able to install myself with ease. It is very thin but definitely repels water. It is smooth and allows for composite planks to slide easily on joists. The fact that you can tear it off by hand into perfectly squared off pieces is awesome. The other deck tape I used (which was about 15% cheaper) is a massive pain to install. Furthermore, it start to lift off the joists in hours. After about 3 days I'm wondering why I even bothered. The G Tape does not lift off. Fantastic product.

Great tape, sticks very well. Very comparable to zip tape. Would buy again as flashing tape

I saw this joist tape recommended online by a high-end deck designer. We built our own deck and decided the added cost of taping the beams & joists was worth it to protect from water damage/rot over the years. It also came in handy as part of our flashing design. Easy to work with, durable and respected by industry professionals - we are very happy with our purchase!

Needed another roll after a making a large order from g tape direct to get free shipping. I mistakenly thought this was the same 3035 linerless tape. Turned out not to be a big deal. Liner was very easy to deal with and tape seemed to have better adhesion and felt a bit thicker than 3035. I like the dimensions of g tape better than box store brands as it allows for joist overhang and a bit of error while applying. Highly recommend.UPDATE: Second purchase I’m not sure what’s going on. Liner would not separate from tape properly, constantly ripping diagonally having to stop and pick at it. Section over joist would adhere very well but wrap over sides would not bond. Still marginally easier to work with than standard flashing tape and wider than box store joist tape that gives you silly 1/16†side error on 2X at 1 5/8â€. Recommend 3035 over this but not sure it’s still available.

If we had know about G-tape 9 years ago we wouldn’t have to replace our hot tub deck now. After ripping out all the rotted decking & repair or replace the water damaged joint, we applied this product to the top edge of all the supporting joist. Gives a great waterproof barrier to protect from future water resting & damaging the wood. This time we also allowed 1/4†spacing between all decking & made seam lines off joist to allow air & water to pass round boards. This G-tape was great to work with & easy to install. Yes it is expensive @ $30 a roll & our 12’ x 22’ deck took 5 rolls. But if this extra step helps make our low to the ground hot tub deck last years longer it will be well worth it.

A must when waterproofing a deck ledger board, or the top of deck joists. Takes a little practice to handle but really sticks to the wood and a lifesaver for rebuilding my deck to avoid water damage. I suggest cutting into manageable strips like 2 or 3 feet, peel back the backing on one end. Align the tape and then stick down the exposed end. Peel off the backing while laying the tape down. It really doesn't stretch, so aligning it as perfectly as possible before sticking it down is advised.

I love this stuff and use it for every joist on my deck. Easy to apply, and makes a nice waterproof seal on top to nail down the decking. Have used at least 10 rolls and hold up really well.
