I am a senior who has to frequently check my roof. I’ve reached a point where stepping around the ladder to get on the roof made me nervous. This attachment allows me to just pass through to the roof. So much safer. Worth every penny for piece of mind. Attaches easily and the metal is a good thickness, not flimsy at all. It does make the ladder top heavy so my ladder stays in place permanently. Living in a wildfire area not such a bad idea anyway. Oh yes, I also have a ladder stabilizer attached. No movement at all.

If you work on roofs and need to transition from ladder to roof, GET THIS!!! The way this attaches to the ladder is crazy simple and works like a charm. Someone really though through making the attachment as simple and quick as possible, while also maintaining a rock solid attachment. I can get both on my ladder in less than 30 seconds. Removal is just as fast. It's also much lighter than expected. Still adds some top weight, so be careful when rotating it up in place. I use it on a 16 ft extension ladder and can do it solo easy. Anything longer and you probably want some assistance. As always make sure your ladder footing and upper contact point is SECURE. This is important whether you use this attachment or not. But a sound footing and contact point, PLUS this attachment...and you have a VERY safe ladder and ladder/roof transition. If anything, it makes things so easy you might forget to remember "safety". Before, when performing the side transition to roof, I always went through a mental safety checklist. With this attachment, I just go up and on without a thought. So...remember, you still need to do your mental safety checklist, even when using this attachment. Fewer things to worry about, but you still need to have the proper mindset. Same thing when descending. It's so easy you can forget to think. THINK SAFETY. Get this. You'll be glad you did. Just remember to keep that safety mindset.

Worked as described on my Werner 20 ft extension ladder. I bought this in February 2015 to get safe access to my roof to remove snow here outside of Boston as we got blasted with one storm after another. Using this product I was able to ascend the ladder, check the roof deck carefully for slippery spots, then ascend all the way with confidence (note: my wife helped steady the ladder on the bottom, I would always recommend the buddy system when climbing up onto a roof, especially in winter!). It is pretty sturdy though with a very slight amount of "give" to it because although the knobs tighten up front-to-back there is still a bit of side-to-side wiggle, which may vary with the thickness of the extension ladder rails. This is not really a complaint, you just have to be ready for a little wiggle as you grab on so you know what to expect and can use it safely. The main reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the stick-on grip strips. The first time I used the ladder, half of one strip broke off and fell somewhere into a snow bank. With these being stickers with mediocre adhesion (particularly in the cold) I don't foresee they are going to last long. And the rails will be very slippery if you are using wet gloves in winter, I took my gloves off and used my hands. Once it warms up I am going to think about spray painting a texture onto the handles, perhaps like the spray you can use for pickup truck beds or a rubberized undercoating. I think this will be much more effective as a long-term grip than the cheap stickers that came with it. But overall, I am very happy, and feel very safe getting up and back down from the roof. I am just a home owner and not a construction or roofing professional, so I value my safety and I was not about to try and swing my legs around a normal extended ladder. This product solved my problem at a reasonable price.

Fantastic product! I’d given up cleaning my roof, because I was killing my knees when getting up onto my roof. I had to kneel on the roof as I transitioned from the top of the ladder onto the roof. Not only did this grind on my knee joints, but it was also very unsafe. I ended up having to have someone out to clean the roof and had to shell out $300+ for each visit. Today, for the first time, I used the new ladder extenders. Wow, so easy to step off the ladder and onto the roof. I'm using a 16’ aluminum extension ladder, plus the Ladder Stabilizer Standoff Brackets with silicone elbows. The extenders add a bit more weight, but I'm easily able to carry and position the setup without any issues! Thank-you Guardian Fall Protection, I'm so grateful!

Works as intended, fit's a Werner ladder just fine.adds a little weight to ladder but not to bad, made getting on to roof safer.cost was better than what Werner was asking for there's.Liked the ease it was to get on and off the roof. The rubber pads help steady the ladder, so I didn't need the wing thingy's for stability. They'll probably come in handy when I need to work around the windows. Also liked the color bright orange, is the same as the Werner ladder so you can't miss where it's at.

Easy to take on and off. It works better with an extension ladder that needs to be extended to reach the roof because you can adjust the height perfectly to a roofline.Moving the ladder about can be unwieldy, but the safety of getting on the roof is a major bonus. Again this can be taken off the ladder such as when leaning a ladder against a wall.If using safety handles on a single ladder for repeated use on a low roof, the single ladder should be physically cut at the top end. Ladders should overhang the roof by a foot or so. Ladders should be set up so it can be a normal step onto the roof without having your last step on the ladder being above the roofline. You can buy rubber caps for the top ends that were cut. You would put these caps on when the safety rails are not on the ladder.

This equipment is easy to install on the ladder. I have the type of extension ladder that flares out at all he bottom. If you remove that flared out piece these safety arms will slide onto the ladder. They were slightly wiggly but a small piece of wood wedged into each side would take care of that. Makes stepping onto the roof so much easier than having to step around the ladder.

I’m so glad I bought this. I’ve boughten every other type of safety gear for ladder work and by far, along with harness, this makes my job so much safer and me feeling comfortable. Being on the roof is somewhat easy, getting off and on it is the hard part. Trust me, I’m a roof and gutter service man and this was the only part I dreaded but not anymore! Thanks and highly recommend obviously hehe!

Makes it much nicer getting on and off the roof. Doesn't work on short roofs as the ladder goes higher than the short roofs

I am scared of heights, I have a flat roof, and only a 10 foot height to get on the roof from my upper deck. I walk up the ladder, and walk directly through the middle holding each handle, its also easy to get back down. You no longer need to step around the ladder, which reduces your chance of falling. Amazing product that ALL pros should use as well, could save lives, its quality is amazing, its very durable and sturdy and I love it.
