The jacks on electric guitars are clearly an oversite to this day. Sticking straight into the front is ridiculous, and a jack in the side pointed at the floor isn't much better. Mr. Fender's design isn't genius, it's just better than those other "engineering mistakes." I'm telling you, inventors, this is fertile ground.This piece is a nicely chromed recessed jack that is replacing one that was nicely chromed in the last millennium. It is a convenient drop-in replacement, but it will look sharp in new builds as well. Quite a bargain too.

This is a basic fender style input jack for a guitar. There is nothing wrong with it, and the quality and finish look fine. The jack itself is a standard mono jack with a non-grounding tip connector – which is fine, because the guitar input doesn’t need to be grounded when the cable is unplugged the way an FX pedal or amp input does. If you need this, for building or replacing or just changing the color of your old jack, this will do the job nicely. 5 stars.

Compared to other strat I have as well and it is not made correctly. Pushes jack closer to bridge side and runs the cord tip into the cavity and grounds it.

If you're building a strat with a vintage style body, this ferrule will not fit the hole because the "belly" is bigger. Save yourself some time and purchase the original Fender jack plate.
