I work in EMS and this is one of the best tools I use on a daily bases, I use it to cut clothes off and straps on backboards, seat belts and anything else you can fit in it. I have it attached to my radio strap. Very very good tool and cleans easy and replacement blades so it will always be sharp.

I got my trilobite because I really have no need for a dive knife. Let's face it... if you're diving recreationally and are a reasonably good diver, you're not going to be often putting yourself in situations where you need a knife. If you do need one, it is probably because you have been snagged in monofilament. A knife just doesn't help you much in that situation! When you do get snagged in line, you need a z-knife or shears... both of which I carry. The trilobite is a good design; a somewhat redundant double sided z-knife essentially with a very convenient and small holster. The holster will slide easily onto a 2" webbing (i.e. your harness).I haven't had mine for more than a few weeks and a few dives, so I cannot yet comment on the durability of the trilobite, but so far, so good. The main problem I have run into in the past with any type of cutter is corrosion and rust. So far, the trilobite looks good... but with razor blades, time will tell. The only thing that could potentially be problematic with this product is the small size. By that, I mean that the square at the end of it is a little too small to get a finger through with gloves on. It is probably best suited for warm water divers. The touch fastener (velcro) tag that fastens it inside the holster does offer a sort of awkward handle, but it's not ideal. I still choose to carry this product with me than a cold water z-knife, which is much more bulky.Have fun and be safe!

Super sharp line cutter. Fits snug in the holder so stays locked in during the dive yet easy to remove when needed

Tech diver here. I've used it on rope, plastic rice sack, bamboo fish traps, and fishing line and they were no match for this cutting tool. I always have it on my harness and it's easy to pull out and put back in without looking. I love this so much I've bought 3 as gifts, and my friend (sport diver) who saw me use it, ordered one for himself after seeing another diver try to cut the same nylon rope (underwater) with a regular knife.I've had this tool for 2 years and haven't needed to replace the blades. Just make sure you let it dry out out of the sheath to prevent rust (it says so on the package anyway).Oh, and I also use it as a tank banger when I need to :)

This cutting tool beats many other z knifes on the market used for scuba. I was able to cut out of an entanglement easily when diving in Panama City with this tool.
