I didn’t pay enough attention when ordering but after removing stock nut on my fender jag bass I opened the nut and while installing the base plate realized that the base plate doesn’t have stabilizing/ guide pins or tabs like a Warwick Just-A-Nut. In short if you adjust the nut up it’s balancing on the pointed adjustment screw and nothing stopping it from falling over or tilting north or south as you tune your strings tuning stability is nonexistent you can see it tilt while tuning and string bends so intonation is out the window also. This nut will only be useful if you only need to raise one side if you keep one side fully contacting the base plate it will work but otherwise it’s a waste of money and in my case time.

Pull out the old nut, drop this one in and voila! - an adjustable nut with extra sustain. For fretless basses, where you need lower string height at the nut, leave out the nut baseplate. I wish I had found these years ago, I could have avoided lots of frustrating filing down of bone and acrylic nuts. All my Jazz basses now have these as standard.
