I bought this to keep as a spare for when the gasket on the one I am using needs adjusting. It isn't completely necessary, but it seemed easier to pop the spare on and work on the other one in a better place than under the aquarium.

It fluval and I love the makers, this is my third time buying this part in two years. It’s not the lever that gives out, it’s the red valve release! The connection lock underneath is flimsy and eventually wears out or break. Therefore providing an air gap (won’t seal) that will cause a leakage from the top. It is not made of the same plastic hardness as the gray intake lever. It works, just don’t think it’s suppose to last forever, especially if you are doing those weekly/bi weekly water changes!

Reliable as always with Fluval products, this external filter componant is easy to install and robust in its quality.The only negative for Fluval components is that they can be a little high in price sometimes, compared to other brands. However, the wide selection of individual components available for their filters does allow for greater longevity of your aquarium products and set ups.

After a year of use, the valve on my Fluval 307 filter broke, so I purchased this replacement. I’m pleased to have found the original part available on Amazon. However, I hope Fluval considers improving the quality of this valve in future iterations especially the red press handle

When I put this one i realized how hard the old one was to install on filter. It those the same job but way easier to access filter. And close it back.
