I'm using this adapter to connect a SanDisk SSD to an iPad Air so I can "stream" video, and it works like a charm. With this adapter the SSD rests behind the iPad and is out of the way - it doesn't stick out and doesn't require a straight cable that pretty much gets in the way. I can hold the iPad and the SSD as if it wasn't even there. Video "streams" without a hiccup, photos display and transfer smoothly, and I can read files in the iPad Files app just as if they were loaded on the iPad directly. I don't think you'd want to use this adapter with a laptop, but for an iPad or iPhone with a USB-C connection, it's a super handy adapter. It weighs virtually nothing and takes up virtually no space. The only problem I can foresee would be that's so small it'd be easy to lose. Overall, I'd buy this adapter again. 5 Stars!

I was going to use this for a Hagibis ssd MagSafe enclosure and a hagibis ssd MagSafe fan. It does make a solid connection, but the problem was the devices needed to be powered separately but that’s an equipment issue & can be easily fixed with another device. The fit was perfect and solid.

If you’re looking at it, you probably need it. Nobody else makes a male-male 180 degree U-adapter with USB4 power and throughput.I’m sure it was made to cleanly power their SSD and TEC combo but the benefit is universal phone to SSD adaptability. This adapter allows almost any SSD to be plugged into iPhone while cleanly holding the SSD against the back of the device.And sometimes, all you have left is that oddball M-F USB-C shorty cable in your bag.Whatever the reason, this is the only M-M USB4 U-adapter available at any price. Everything else is USB2.0 data.

I was skeptical buying this because some reviews noted that they had issues with their SSD. Unfortunately this appears to be the only 180degree male to male adapter that advertises high data rates so I took a gamble and bought it!I’m happy to report I have had no issues using this with my Samsung T7 external SSD. Recorded 4K 60FPS ProRes Log with no performance hits or corrupted footage.Pretty sleek and would be great for anyone that is using this for a portable film setup with their iPhone. Was super stoked this worked out and looks so well integrated!

I’m sure this device works as expected with an iPhone not enclosed in case. I don’t know too many people who don’t use phone cases, but this does not work with my phone in case. It does not extend out far enough for a mini hard drive or deep enough into the phone to make contact. Would work fine without a case.
