This Hall Crystal Flute is handcrafted in Washington State, USA by flute maker James Hall. Starting with precision Pyrex glass tubing, it is sealed and carefully shaped to create a Boehm taper producing beautiful and accurate tones throughout its tonal range. After shaping and tuning the tone holes, the flute is decorated and kiln fired to fuse the decorations and insure durability. Each flute is a handcrafted work of glass art. This flute will arrive nestled in a classy foam lined dark-green storage box with gold stamped logo, along with a complete fingering chart. Free sheet music is avalible on the Hall Crystal Flute website.

The Hall crystal flute is a folk or historical instrument and plays differently than a modern concert flute. The mouth hole has a raised edge and no lip plate. If you play the silver flute, this will take some time to get used to. The biggest difference is that you will need to place the flute higher on the lip and use a slightly tighter embouchure. Of course you can play any style of music you wish. Being a 6-holed flute it is well-suited for playing Celtic music and traditional tunes. It is also similar in design to the renaissance or baroque flute so is excellent for this as well.

The F flute has a fingering stretch that is just slightly larger than the G flute. The tone carries some of the warmer deeper tone qualities of the D Flute. While slightly larger than the G flute, this flute should still be playable by an average teen or women’s sized hand.

This glass flute looks very nice and plays well. It shipped from the west coast to the east coast and I had it within 2 days!The F is a little bit of a stretch for my small hands, but I am going to order a G to work with so I can work up to this one.Very nice at a good price!

This flute has a sound very reminiscent of blowing in the end of the bottle, as one would expect. If one's more used to bamboo flutes (as I am) it can take some getting used to. It could be my learning curve, but I found it slow on the attack, so I can only play very slowly. This can be quite limiting, but that may well improve considerably with practice. I find that my right hand, being a bit small, doesn't fit correctly, so I must play the lowest hole with my little finger.While this may seem intuitive to most, I did not consider how much condensation there would be inside of it as one plays. It immediately fogs up, so my very pretty white and gold lily pattern doesn't show up very well. The darker patterns will probably look nicer while in use. You'll definitely need a swab, which this doesn't come with. I ordered one from the Hall website.The flute itself is beautiful and nicely made, smooth and well rounded. The raised finger and mouth holes make it easy to stay in position.

フルート系のクリスタルフルートは、D,E♭、G,　A管を所有していて今回　F管を購入しました。D,E♭管よりも径が若干細く感じました。長さは、自分にとってはベストの長さでしたが、トーンホールがインラインの為か、慣れるまで音が安定しませんでした。音色や響きも自分の技術が未熟な為に目指している音色が得られずに毎日奮闘しています。しかし楽しいので毎日、演奏？しています。ただリーズナブルな柄を購入してもD管よりも６０００円位高かったです。
