I had 60 small bulbs to plant and discovered the soil was too firm, and the area overrun with English ivy vines, so neither my hand planter or foot planter could penetrate these barriers. With this tool I planted all 60 bulbs in 20 minutes, without having to stand up for each as I would have to if I had used the foot planter. It is a very sturdy tool which could penetrate all but the hardest clay. It also has a beautiful wood handle and reminds me of the old fashioned tools I see at farm sales that are simple works of art.
