These are very small, just like advertised. Due to their small size they had a weak magnetic force making it more difficult for students to see the magnetic field. The did allow the kids to explore with different magnets. Once they learned about attraction and repulsion, they were able to test and label the poles on different magnets that allowed for a better visual.Update: I've had over 150 kids use these magnets, they have been dropped, stepped on and abused. They are all still in tact. I'm changing my rating from 4 stars to 5

Read the description carefully! I was looking for larger magnets and these are quite small. The paint also comes off easily but they worked ok for the lesson I needed them for.

These bar magnets are very low quality. They are so weak, that some of them struggle to stay on my refrigerator.

These are great for a science fair project based on magnetic fields. My son was a let o demonstrate and have a set for the viewers to use as well. Great product!

The magnetism of these bars is very, very weak - they barely hold on to a cookie sheet. Also, make sure you consider how short 1.5 inches is before purchase.
