Product Description

spectroscope

It is used to display the color of a gemstone by shining a light (pen-torch) through the stone into the spectroscope if the stone is translucent, or by showing the reflected light if the stone is opaque.

Spectroscopes are used to examine the spectrum of a loose or mounted stone.

Within is a series of lines that you must learn to recognize; it is a continuum (rainbow) of which black or white lines can be broken.

The stone's selective absorption of certain wavelengths helps differentiate naturally colored diamonds from those that have been irradiated, as well as natural stones from synthetics.

It Works great and accurate. It would help a Novice to have instructions added to shipping.

Disappointed that there is no scale provided, making it incomplete as a gemologist tool. But I may be able to use it with time.

Could not determine the wave length of gems using this.

I am an amateur on this. I had to rely on YouTube to use. Still very shaky ,but better!

Or aucun mode d'emploi ni notice.

Small and handy, I use it,for checking spectral output of modern lighting systems. Particularly examining high blue emission.
