Video instructions were great ;this solution works great and availability of different sizes curtails extra work customizing! Screws to adhere brackets to rail were self tapping with electric screwdriver. Very easy to install with 2 people to position on wall.

The black handrail is quite attractive with sealed ends, and will be useful for a couple now in our mid-70's who have vowed to add handrails and grab bars in any problematic places in our 2-story rather odd house, which is a mix of 1960 and 1990 construction and style in 2 stories with many stairs.I like this design, rather than the sort which attach at the ends, because in a drywalled house you need to put the supports where the studs are, particularly when there are only two support points as there are on this rail.This means that no holes come pre-drilled in the attractive rail itself, because the company selling this doesn't know where your studs will be. You have to find those, attach the supports, and then drill 4 holes into the metal. Four of what appear to be metal-tapping screws are included, but screwing those into a curved surface looks to be a bit chancy, so I'll likely use a small drillbit for pilot holes. Wouldn't have been a bad idea to include a tiny drillbit in the install kit, but I have some.I do wonder just how sturdy those little metal screws will be over the years, screwed into thin aluminum. If you over-torque them even a bit they'll strip, and then what do you do? I think the 4 little metal-tapping screws are the weak point of this rail system. I suppose that in most cases one will be putting force downwards, which won't tax them, but if one was falling sideways or pulling up, I'd wonder about those little screws into the aluminum, and whether they were stripped... or for that matter had degraded, as can happen with steel against aluminum in a climate like ours.So 4 stars for an attractive rail system; if I felt the attachment to the rail was more robust I'd have gone 5.Looks nice.

Came exactly as described and was easy to install. Only caution advise I can offer is to use a center punch, drill pilot holes then attach mounting hardware. This will prevent the screw from "walking" causing the hardware to br misaligned

Make sure you read the product information. We thought it was made of wood, but it is metal. This made drilling holes in it more of a challenge, but it turned out well and seems sturdy.
