It is not a thick book but it has lot of good information, good pictures and is well written. Out of the needle tattong books I have read so far, this is the best one.

Taught me all the basics. As a lefty I had to start over several times but was able to finish the first ring, picot and chain pattern. It's a little uneven and lopsided but I'm still proud!

This book really clarified for me the information I gleaned from watching videos. Although videos are nice, I needed to see the still photos and read the explanations. Some of the most helpful things for me were having the still photos handy to check that my orientation was correct and when it explained 'reverse work'. It said to turn your work 'like a book'. Just these two things were so helpful for me.Needle tatting is so much more intuitive to me than shuttle tatting. If you've had difficulty with shuttle tatting I recommend needle tatting. And I recommend this book to get you started. Just after a few minutes I was able to make rings, picots, and chains. With practice they will become more refined.

The instructions are super clear. I've been tatting for awhile but could never figure out how to convert the ring and thread method from a shuttle pattern I was working on. This book had clear and concise instructions. Lots of pictures and diagrams. Excellent book.

Great step by step instructions for needle tatting (which is much easier than shuttle tatting) it also shows multiple ways the pattern may be written, so if you have patterns for the shuttle, you can do it on the needle.
