It is sturdy metal and needs to be assembled before use. Screws and an Allen wrench are included. It only requires 2 screws, but it came with 4. The magnet is huge, really strong, and grabbed a hold of the side of the dryer. I use the velvet covered hangers and they seem to be a little heavier than the plastic ones, yet this hanger holds 2 rows of them perfectly. I love that my hangers aren't hanging around looking unkempt and ugly. They are now hidden, yet very accessible, in between my washer and dryer. I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend it to others!

I placed this between the washer and the wash tub. I can store 7 really thick hangers on this which I use to hang my Scrubs on once they are dry. The magnet is strong...I was worried the thick hangers would weigh it down and pull it off, but it is very strong and does not budge.I have a wall hanger bar, but it is installed in a spot where the hangers were sticking out in my way at shoulder height. This allows me to have them totally out of the way. I really like this item!

The magnet is nice and strong, but this hanger organizer could use a little more space between the 2 arms for larger hangers. Also, the arms could be just a little longer to hold a couple more hangers. Having said that, it's so nice to have the hangers in reach when I take clothes out of the dryer. I had the hangers on a pretty high rack that, lately I've been struggling to reach. Also with the awkward reach I drop the hangers more often. Of course they always fall into the most difficult to reach places. Since they are now easier to reach, I don't drop them as often. A small purchase stopped the gnashing of my teeth whenever I need a hanger.

I've tried for 20 minutes now trying to get those 2 tiny screws in (without cross threading them) without much luck. This is simply a poor design, as if they have put the chamfer on the other side, you could assemble it with the large base plate down and just hold the bracket as you put in the screws. Instead, they made this so you have to balance & align all of the pieces on the thin bracket. The screw are pretty fine threaded (course would have made this MUCH EASIER!) so they want to cross thread instead of going straight in. So I had to wait until my wife was available to hold the bracket straight as I screwed it together, which is totally unnecessary for something this simple!I have seen other people post that the magnet isn't strong enough, and I just want to mention that the thicker the metal you place it on, the better it will hold. I placed it on the side of a steel cabinet, since my laundry machines are butted up against the wall & a utility sink and it has more than enough holding power to pack with as many hangers as I can fit on.It would be better if it had the two bars further apart, but this works and holds up to 14 hangers pretty nicely.
