Step1-Apply texture paint
Apply texture paint on the wall, better to have a little thickness.
Step2-Flattening the surface

I used this for a bathroom drywall texture. Taped and seamed. Then primered drywall. Mixed 2 parts primer to 6 parts 3 step drywall mud. Skimmed it on over a 4ft Sq area. Ran the rolled in a one roll motion top to bottom, move over rolled bottom to top. If texture was to heavy or light I reskimmed and repeated process. The roller would get gummed up after some time so a good rinse and it rolled consistent again. The roller handle and roller were durable. I'm a caveman on equipment and I had no issue with the unit. That's it, hope it helps you decide to try it

My granddaughter has been working extremely hard on her senior project. She had painted one of the boards a pretty solid pink and was so excited to use this roller with a darker pink to make a design. She was extremely disappointed to what the roller did to the board, needless to say she had to repaint the board. She had four additional boards she was going to do designs on. But needless to say we are returning this roller because of the poor quality. I ordinarily do not write a bad review but we were extremely disappointed in the quality.
