The species will range from Walnut, Red Oak, White Oak, Cherry, Birch, Soft Maple Hard Maple, Hickory, Cherry, Ash, Butternut and Red Grandis. got this because it was an affordable option to get a variety of wood, and thats what i got. i got hard and soft maple, poplar, and birch.was a bit disappointed that there were no darker woods, but all the wood was labeled, it came with a bit of paper that had hardness ratings which would be good for someone just starting out, and a little packet of m&ms which was mighty appreciated.the wood will need to be planed, so while the boards are good, if youre looking for smooth square lumber this isn't it. a hand plane, planer, or some careful table saw techniques will be necessary.

When I originally purchased this, as it is still now, it wasn’t prime. So the shipping was expected to be around 7-10 days after purchase. No worries, no rush, however it came two days after ordering with other things that were prime. I was impressed to say the least. Of course that may not always be the case but I think it’s a indicator of a good company getting things to you ASAP instead of procrastinating because they can. As for the wood itself. Perfect for the small thing I build such as keep sake boxes, drawers, rings and ring boxes. Hard to get decent hard woods in my area already dried and milled. I enjoy that process as well but it’s a costly one I only like to use for special pieces. All lumber I received is square, straight, quality grade with now knots or blemishes I can see yet. Looks to be all rift sawn mostly with some quarter sawn. I’m reallly happy with it and will definitely buy again.

The hardwood I received did basically match the quantity of 1/2 cubic foot of cuts. Roughly 2/3 of it was of the advertised quality with about 1/4 of it having meaningful flaws and two boards with small area flaws. Overall, for my usage of segmented bowls, pen blanks, and other projects comprised of glued together cuts I may get 90% or more value from the lot. I am not super aggravated but the package I received did not meet the standard in the product description. My 17 boards were generally S4S, dry and stable with 6 faces and a few more edges needing finishing. 20lbs 2 ounces.

I am very happy with the variety of cut offs I received. They can be used to make some beautiful crafts. I see others not happy but you have to realize what you are getting and it is a decent price for what you get. If you want specific you will need to purchase by the board foot.

I have never been let down with the amazing pieces of wood - have made so many nice items and gifts - always arrives when the seller said it would come, only one problem - the wood was advertised as without knots - the wood is great - just got another batch of wood - absolutely beautiful - no knots (except for the cedar, which is expected - the smell is amazing
