You found yourself, here, on Amazon. Looking for the tailor's clapper. You found this item, because you knew exactly what you were looking for. You found this and are thinking, should I get this one or another? Here is everything you could possibly ask:Is it a good value with your money? Yes.Does it work well? Yes.Is it a nice size? Yes, it fits in your hand pretty well, and probably as well as any other clapper.Does it look good? It is literally a really smooth block of wood, but yeah it is pretty aesthetic if wood is your style. How about strength? It is literally solid wood, yes.Hope this review helps you in your search for your perfect clapper.

This tool is certainly worth the investment. I know it's meant for warm ironed fabric, but it works really well, in my opinion, on dry fabric as well. It can put in a nice, crisp seam. I'm glad I made the purchase.

I like the weight and the inch markings on the clappers. They work very well for pressing seams for quilting. I would recommend these to anyone who quilts and wants to have very flat seams while piecing.

This hardwood clapper is made well. It helps smooth the edges of my seams and keeps them flat.

I purchased this item to use on quilt blocks. The clapper makes the seams lay very flat. Very pleased with this product.

I didn't know the advantage of using a this until I watched a video about keeping your 2.5" strips straight as you sew them together. I haven't tried that application yet but have used it on quilt binding. I love the way it pressed the binding flatter than ironing only. I had some problems with the sewn on binding and had to fix it. When I lined everything up again I used this to press it down after ironing it into place. It made it so much easier to work with. I wish I had bought this a long time ago. It's sturdy, has a cute little drawing on the top and it's awesome. Highly recommended.

I wish seller would disclose what hardwood is used. This looks like maple, which is good, but it would be nice to know. It has worked as expected. Nice size and weight, and it came fairly well sanded. I compared the inch markings to two other rulers, and see that if I line up the zero mark, then the others are each slightly off. For example, the 2†mark is 1/32†right of where it should be, and the 6†mark is 1/32†left of where it should be. That probably matters only to quilters, and is a sign of sloppy manufacturing. Just don’t use it as a ruler.
