They mostly work, they are grommets, they are cheaply made and inexpensive. Sort of you get what you pay for. Probably won't buy anymore of these.

This brand of grommets is much better quality than others: thicker metal, longer center sleeve, thicker top coat. Need a separate grommet tool for installation. (Two piece metal kit plus hammer worked fine; used piece of thin cotton cloth to protect top of grommet.)

I bought these because two pairs of shoes I bought have only holes punched in the leather. After a few times of lacing them up the holes started to rip. When I replaced those shoes, the new ones had the same punched holes. I put these eyelets in the holes to make the shoes last longer. So far, they have worked like a charm.
