Definitely recommend a solution for multi-cup pour-over or to pair with your Chemex. Keeps the coffee hot for a few hours. Nice, clean look and easy to clean and leave drying in the rack.Pros- Retains heat very well- Easy to use with standard pour over set-up (ceramic filter holder).- Great partner to my Chemex...I pour my first cup into my mug, then the rest goes in the Hario- Carafe is easy to clean.- Push button pour feature provides a solid seal and is easy to use.- No drips down the side for me!Cons- Lid takes some getting used to for screwing on...but once you get the alignment right it works every time.- Rubber seal ring might be trouble in the future if I want to get in there and really clean it. I'm nervous to pull it apart as I'm not sure I can get it back together.- You do have to close the stopper before you finish pouring, in order to get the last bits out of the top of the carafe. But not a big deal.

My office is going to a Hoteling situation which means I have to cart all my 💩 in and out when I'm on site. My current work coffee maker is a mini french press and it's glass. So I bought this just because it's unbreakable and it meets that requirement just fine. For heat retention, I've let it sit for 2-3 hours a few times and it is steaming hot when poured but after adding an ounce or two of cold milk it needs a few seconds in the nuker. I have other thermos branded products that stay piping hot for 6-8 hours, so this was a disappointment. Normally I don't wait that long between cups so it shouldn't be an issue for me, but if you're thinking this device would be a good way to keep coffee hot all day, look elsewhere. Due to it's small capacity and odd shape I don't think many people will be transporting this around or using it on an outdoor job site or anything. If you want to make a cup of coffee and have your refill still hot 30-60 min later this is for you!For some reason the red one was $10 cheaper than any other color when I ordered, it's 600ml which is about 27 ounces. I paired it with the stainless steel hario v2 and the hario brand unbleached cone filters. All in all they make a great tasting cup of coffee and I have no complaints about the combo of these hario products working together. If you need an unbreakable coffee setup for work or camping, this is the way to go imho.

Pros:Effective thermal insulationGood pour (no drips if used correctly - tip, depress button, begin pour, release button, allow to finish pour, un-tip)Hario ceramic dripper sits nicely atop (with lid removed of course)Clean design, with nice matt black finishCons:None yet...I make 500ml of coffee in the morning and drink it over a few hours. Previously, I used a glass server under the dripper and transferred to a insulated thermos. Now, I drip directly into the HARIO Double Vacuum Structure and screw on the cap. Coffee stays as hot, and it pours better. Using the structure reduces the number of vessels used, thereby simplifying the process, saving energy/hot water used to warm an the thermos and decreasing clean-up. The structure feels sturdy, so there is less risk of breakage (which was the impetus for buying in the first place).I give my resounding endorsement.

I enjoy experimenting with pour over recipes at home. To sip with my breakfast or lunch, I usually make 350ml~450ml of coffee at a time. This pot keeps my coffee warm throughout the meal, which is to say, it does what I wanted it to do.According to another reviewer, Nancy J. Brower: "What it doesn't do is retain heat. Within 30 minutes the coffee comes out lukewarm. That's when I put my coffee cup in the microwave." As I was contemplating this purchase, Nancy's 2 star review was a cause for some hesitation. Heat retention was one of the primary features I was looking for. Thankfully, thus far, my experience with the Hario VHS-60B has dispelled this concern. Perhaps Nancy's was defective, or else her definition of "lukewarm" is different from my own. According to the International Agency for Research on Cancer(at the WHO), the regular drinking of very hot beverages(65 degrees celsius/149 Fahrenheit or above) is a probable carcinogen. I am not interested in developing esophageal cancer, so my ideal sipping temperature may be lower than Nancy's.For the purposes of this review, to clarify the Hario VHS-60's actual capabilities, I ran a simple test. I hope you find the data and my opinion useful.First, heat retention/insulation test:I started out with 500ml of 90 degree celsius water. As shown in the picture, pouring it into the pot cooled it down to 85 degrees. I immediately closed the lid after this measurement. I opened the lid to measure the temperature every 30 minutes after that. I concluded this experiment at 3 hours and 30 minutes in order to go to bed. At each reading, the lid was open for about 20 seconds, during which time the temperature dropped at least an extra half a degree(celsius) or so. Thus, in real use, it may hold a higher temperature for longer; although, I did not simulate consumption by gradually pouring the contents out during this experiment. 500ml remained in the pot until the end. The temperatures below are listed in celsius. Here's the data...1st reading : 85.82nd (30minutes in) : 81.23rd (60 min.) : 78.14th (90 min.) : 75.25th (120 min.) : 72.96th (150 min.) : 70.37th (180 min.) : 68.08th (210 min.) : 66.0After 3 and 1/2 hours, at 66 degrees celsius(150.8 Fahrenheit), it was still warmer than what I would call "lukewarm."Second, Size and weight:Height : roughly 14cm or 5.5"Width at base : 12.7cm or 5"Weight : 492.7 grams or 17.37 ozThird, pouring characteristics:As other reviews have noted, it's a tad awkward to pour(hence one less star). Filled with 500ml(I ran the experiment with 500ml of water), it began to pour at around a 75 degree angle. Rapidly, to continue the flow rate, I increased that angle to 90 degrees. After maintaining this 90 degree angle for about 350ml, I had to angle my pour at 110~120 degrees in order to empty the remaining 150ml. If you don't increase the angle at the end, it will behave as though it's empty, which is a bit weird at first. I quickly got used to it, so I don't consider this to be a deal breaker. Your mileage may vary.Final thoughts:This is a stylish little pot that keeps its contents warm for a reasonable duration. Its short stature and wide base make it well suited as a pour over platform. My Hario v60(02 size) fits snugly on top. I don't think there are many competitive options in its designated role as a stainless steel, small portion pour over coffee receiver that is double wall/insulated. There are more affordable insulated stainless coffee carafes on Amazon, but they are all taller with a larger capacity(mostly 1.5liters). In this size/shape class, there are a few double wall glass carafe's. If this one doesn't suit your particular requirements, those may be your best bet. I would like to see improved pouring characteristics in future versions(without sacrificing the current insulation characteristics), but, this iteration works well enough for me to recommend.

Perfect Thermos Server for pour-over coffee. Just what I wanted. Well designed; looks great and its functional, stable and it DOES NOT leak if you depress the thumb release while it’s upright (to release any pressure before you tilt it) and release the thumb lever when it’s upright again…the instructions clearly state this. Keeps coffee hot for an acceptable period of time, and warm for hours, as does any thermos. It can’t keep liquids piping hot for 8 hours as some have complained, because…well, it doesn’t have an electrified heating element! It’s just a thermos, and works very well as such.
