An all purpose, high temperature flux for use in silver brazing. Formulated for applications where the work is subjected to rapid, localized heating. Particularly useful in applications where large amounts of refractory oxides may form, such as with stainless steel alloys. Use with stainless steel, carbide, heavy parts, prolonged heating cycles.

You have got to try this silver brazing flux. You may have never heard about this flux before, but I can honestly say it works wonderfully. It doesn't dry out quickly like other fluxes but if it does all you have to do is add a little water. If really protects against oxidation and it is such a quality product for the money and works on all metals.

I read about StaySilv and that it was supposed to be a superior flux. I finally bought it and can attest that it's awesome flux for soldering sterling silver! It doesn't take much and the solder flows fast, easy, and clean. Be aware that it is a very dark brown color and there's a bit of an adjustment because it can be difficult to see through it, but once you get used to it it's easy to see the stages as it heats up and when the solder will flow. It's a creamy sort of texture vs. the somewhat crystallized texture of HandiFlux and doesn't dry out like HandiFlux. I'm so glad I made the change!

Stay-silv works great for high-temp brazing ... and the black version even more so if there's excess or prolonged heat (within reason). A totally reliable brand.

I had to silver solder teeth onto a stump grinder. This flux made it very easy and they adhered perfectly!!

Works great with silver brazing wire (about 50% silver). Just heat the surface with a propylene/propane torch until it is glowing dull orange and the flux goes from brown to clear, then melt in the brazing wire. It flows beautifully. Very little oxide scale afterward. Cleanup can be done with a wire brush or similar.

Very good flux for stainless steel. The black colour of the flux is off putting, but it washes off with no problems.

I was really looking forward to using this product but the tub is cracked and the contents have leaked through the envelope it came in. I have noted this in the returns section but not sure how I can return the item as it is a paste that has poured out of the container. I have no idea how to secure it for posting? I have given 2 stars as I cannot review the actual product as it is unusable.
