I finally replaced my 8 year old pair of Friskmaster Kevlar lined gloves (Model RFK300) after the lining began to tear between the thumb and index finger. I expected this to happen eventually, since I sized them small to allow them to stretch to fit, which I believe is important. If a glove is to be used for patrol work, it needs to fit tightly to allow a good feel through the glove for body searches, weapons operation, and getting a positive grip on a suspect. I'm able to type, unlock handcuffs, and write with the gloves on. I've seen co-workers wear out pair after pair of thinner gloves while my Friskmaster gloves lasted for years. I decided to try the Spectra model (FM2000) for the addition of a cuff that isn't on the Kevlar model. I think the cuff is an improvement, as it makes it easier to put them on quickly. Some of the complaints about this glove may be a result of sizing them too large, or an unrealistic expectation of how thin a glove can be made while providing cut resistance. I haven't seen a thinner cut resistant glove (Kevlar & Spectra models are of similar thickness), and my old pair were effective at protecting my hands from broken glass and sharp metal many times. Another problem may be due to confusion between the models of Friskmaster gloves. The Dyneema model (SB8500) with full cuffs is a much thicker glove, and I wear a pair of those in the winter. I don't perform full body searches with that glove because I think they're too thick to provide a good feel for that job. It probably offers more protection, but I find it impractically thick for some tasks.Whichever model you order, they should last a long time, so make sure you get the right size. Gloves are difficult to size properly without trying them on, so I'd suggest asking a co-worker to let you try on theirs if you can. These gloves will stretch a little to fit, but if they don't seem right when yours are delivered, exchange them for the correct size. Both the Kevlar & Spectra gloves are small enough to fit in a side cargo pocket or a rear pocket, so they're always with me. The leather and stitching is of a very high quality on all three models I own. Even my old pair has no stitching failure, or areas where the leather has worn all the way through. Highly recommended for patrol work, or even as high quality dress gloves for general use.

Hatch always made the very best tactical gloves, and still does from my sample. It actually feels and smells like real leather.Be aware tho, these tend to run small. I ordered a large and it`s a bit tight on my medium hands.

Everything I expected. The gloves fit great with no loss of dexterity, i can actuate the safety on my pistol, slide stop, magazine release etc with no loss of performance. Hopefully i will never find out more about the slash resistant properties. The lining feels comfortable and has wind protecting properties but is not outstanding for low ambient temperatures. 5 stars because its well fitted professional looking slash resistant duty gloves that don't hamper your hand dexterity.

I have purchased these gloves for years mainly for work, they are quality made and have only really had a problem or issue with 1-2 pair out of about 8-10. It is especially nice when you can find them offered for a decent price as some companies will have a hefty mark up.As a side note, I have seen a similar type of gloves sliced in half by a reputable knife manufacture video, I am not sure if it is the spectra lined gloves, but I do like the fit, feel and overall protection they afford me at work.

Bottom line, these are the best fitting gloves I've ever worn. Use then for pat downs, weapons, even moving boxes and furn. Always have these gloves with me. I'd recommend them to anyone. These gloves are really great. Note: Not puncture proof. I don't know of any needle proof gloves on the market. It is a problem for LEOs performing bag searches and pat downs.

I first bought a pair of these gloves 3 years ago for work. They held up to many hours of use lasting the aforementioned 3 years. I was very happy with the gloves I bought, that pair was an extra large. So when it came time to replace them I ordered another pair of extra large. They arrived and I tried to place them on my hands and they might as well have been extra small. So I followed the very easy return process and ordered extra extra large.Keep in mind that the original pair of gloves was only an extra large. The double x pair arrived and they fit even smaller then the 1X pair.Determined to get a pair of replacement gloves I ordered the 3x size gloves which arrived today. The cuff is what you would expect from a 3X pair of gloves, wide. The finger portion of the gloves were once again so small I question if they possibly came from an extra small pair. I'm very disappointed in the quality and of the erratic size of these gloves. This final pair will be returned and I will never, ever, ever recommend or purchase another item from them again. The only positive was the seamless return process. There is obviously no quality control at the manufacturing source.

I love these gloves and have purchased many pairs (I lose them, etc), but use them every time I'm in a potentially dangerous situation (animals, construction, etc). In the picture you can see where a squirrel bit me...it hurt a lot, but did not break the skin!!! I highly recommend these.

My old pair wore out - great gloves and lasted 10 years or so - the tag which was still legible had the size and model number etc...bought exactly same glove but sizing has changed in 10 years it seems and needed to return and purchase one size up. Return was easy. Purchased the larger glove and awaiting its arrival. Will submit a review once the new (larger) pair arrive.
