This lock is very sturdy and is very easy to operate with your foot. I am very happy with added security this lock provides.In my application, I had to install it to an aluminum sliding door with a narrow frame. Many reviewers complain about the hardware provided. Just go to the hardware store if the provided screws don’t fit your application. In my case I purchased stronger machine screws to fasten all the parts.I tapped two threaded holes in the aluminum door track to mount the strike plate.For the plunger assembly mounting, I had to fabricate a small aluminum 1/2†x 1/2†x 2 1/2†mounting block extension since the door frame was not wide enough. Fortunately this door has an aluminum frame surface that allows 2 machine nuts to be used behind the door frame without coming close to the glass.The modifications I made may be difficult for a novice to attempt, but demonstrate the adaptability of this lock to different applications with some skilled effort.

There's more robust door security out there, but for the money, and the sturdy-ness, you won't find a better value.I put them on 2 doors. What's great is that the instructions provided won't work on many doors, but they are are so flexible to install, that you can find a way to make them work in just minutes. Door trim size, door trim type (metal or wood), door clearance, ... are all different on every door. I had to mount them completely differently on each door, but as they are well engineered you can find a way to make them work as promised. The planning was just holding them up, flipping pieces around, finding a non binding and secure mounting point, and fire the screws in. What's as good is that my family is not good at figuring things out, and these work flawlessly - kick it down and it locks securely with a loud click, kick the release and it pops up with the same loud click to allow opening, and all with you foot.All in, unpacking, glancing at website instructions on my phone, planning my installation for each door and drilling or self taping screws in, took me about 30 minutes and that's for 2 doors. They're a solid product and work far beyond the $34-ish I paid for a 2 pack.

TL;DR Review:Works great, super sturdy, less tan 3" gap when in second position. Ours didn't come with screws so I bought my own. (see pics if this heppened to you too) overall very happy with the product.Full Review:We bought this because our almost 2 year old has figured out the lock on the door.Installed it in the top of the door so it was out of his reach. We were very careful and slowly drilled holes prior to avoid potentially damaging the door or shattering the glass I'd seen in other reviews. We also positioned theocking piece on the edge of the door so it's further away from the glass panel.Overall it works great, my husband was tugging on the door after install and it wasn't budging. This product lost a star for quality control. Our product came with no screws, so I bought my own because I didn't want to deal with the hassle of returning it and waiting for a new one. I also posted a picture of the screws we used in case this happens to anyone else.

Purchased this to make securing sliding glass door easier for elderly parent with vision issues. Locking and unlocking is straight forward and easy enough, can be mounted at top or bottom of door. The mounting screws that come with the lock are garbage, soft and snapped when screwing into properly predrilled holes.BEWARE, when installing on the door frame with glass, the width of the mounting plate puts two of the four mounting screw holes over where the glass insert fits in the frame; if drilled into, the entire glass insert will shatter. I had to use two screws on one side and epoxy to secure the other, not optimum and why I gave this only three stars overall rating.Jeff

These are great locks for sliding glass doors. Easy push button lock and unlock with your foot. Very secure. I feel much better knowing this lock can't be tampered with. The lock is designed to be attached inside the track, but the way our doors are built, my husband needed to turn it around and attach the lock to the outside, in front of the track. Works perfectly.

When I purchased this I apparently only saw Amazons defaulted “highest reviews†so I thought this would be a great purchase as my toddler knows how to open the back door now. While installing, and doing as the instructions state, we shattered our glass door. I then started digging at other reviews and there are sooooo many people who have done the same. It’s not operator error, it’s an issue with this item. There’s no information about compatibility or warning.Save yourself a $1200 glass replacement!

This lock is the only one I could find that would secure my screen door. I need to leave the main door open for the dog and needed to secure the screen door with the doggy door in it, this was just perfect.

I have a pool and kids so this lock is well worth it for me. I can open the door a few inches and still lock it, kids can’t reach it at the top and I definitely sleep better knowing it works. Worth buying

Worked on my very old sliding patio door. And surprisingly convenient in use.Supplied screws were short one screw and another screw had no screw socket. Fortunately, I had better to hand anyway - so no problem in my case.
