It is a sophisticated device in a sensible design- a bobber! Just make sure you have at least 10 lb. test line if you want to cast it out far! It has a good mass to it, and it floats like a bobber. You can also just drop it over the side to scan immediately below. In my case, I wasn't using it for fishing. I was getting a basic look at the bottom of an old swimming hole near us, looking for signs of hazardous objects in the water! Underwater fishing cameras don't work well in water that is not clear. It is not a substitute for a diver inspection. There were some curious graphics I determined were bottom muck and weeds. I did not use it for fish finding though,I just think it is a great product, and I find young people are fascinated by it. It can serve as an educational tool that is fun.

All in all it’s a great fit if you are just looking for something cheap and portable. Trolling behind a kayak I got a couple hours battery and it would occasionally drop connection but considering that’s not its intended purpose I didn’t take any stars off. The app is very good and everything seems accurate.

This product is good right out of the box. Easy to follow instuctions, easy to use. The graphics are great for a fish finder on your phone. I charged up the bobber and took it out to my lake. It showed everything you want in a fish finder to show. Temperature of the water, depth of the water. The terrain on the bottom of the lake and the fish and where they're at in depth of the lake. I would recommend anyone to purchase this item. Especially if you are fishing from the bank. Hook this up to a swivel and cast it out and watch what happens.

This product is not accurate like they say it is, before you begin to use it and before you put in water it's already telling you the fish are 5ft in depth and it hasn't been in water yet. The fish icon are just going across the screen of my phone, and yet it hasn't gotten to the waters yet. No can do. What a bummer

I've wanted a castable sonar fish finder for years. After doing research, I went with this one and I'm so glad I did. I've used it 3 times already and it has worked perfectly each time. I used my big catfish pole and cast it a good 60 yards or more and never had any issues with connection.

I waited to write a review until I used it a few times on the pond. I fish a pond that hasn't been stocked in a while and finding any fish in it during the winter is hard. The fish finder gave me a clear picture of the bottom of the pond. Unfortunately for me, my pond is filled with a lot of aquatic grasses so false returns for fish on their basic setting are multiple. However, using the HD setting, I can see the whole return to distinguish between grass and fish. I think the biggest difference for individuals buying this is the assumption that they will see an area like a forward facing sonar. Keep in mind this the return on the screen is a straight down representation of where the bobber is, so reeling it in slowly allows you to see the whole pond. Only thing I'd like to see from the app is a ground mapping option that would compile all the data into a map but maybe they will do that in the future. As far as bluetooth connectivity, I never lost it and I was casting about 60-70 feet out. I will say though the accuracy will waiver about 70 feet but I'm not complaining.
