They worked pretty good the time they lasted. Purchased two and installed at the same time. One died in four months and the other died in 6 months. I ran one to one radiator fan and one to the other radiator fan. Since radiator fans are known upon startup to draw 30+ amps. I used two as a precautionary measure. One fan pulled 25 amps and the other pulled 20 amps. Maybe mounting them anywhere other than under the hood would anyone in the future. They do get extremely hot no matter where they’re mounted. Even ran shotky diodes near the fuse holder in the circuit as triple precautionary measure. Fans are okay. I rate them two stars because when they worked they worked good. I am no amateur or novice at any kind of wiring. So I definitely know what I’m doing. Will be wiring a digital fan controller and relay for half the price.

So I was a little worried about this since it did not have good reviews, still, I ordered it. It came neatly packaged and was very easy to install. I'm using this on my 65 Mustang so maybe that's why I've had such good luck with it. My car isn't a daily driver at all but I do take it out two or three times a month. Its worked flawlessly. For my application it was worth it and id recommend it.

I'm am both a "car guy" and an electronic engineer, too. I installed it to turn on the fan at 207F.It worked great until it quit in less than a year, the controller would not turn on the relay.I bought a replacement unit and it shorted inside the controller after 6 months, this time the fan stayed on all the time!SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GET THE "Hayden Automotive 3653 Economy Adjustable Thermostatic Fan Control".IT WILL BE A LOT MORE RELIABLE, just not as tight tolerance for the "fan-on" temperature;APPROXIMATELY +/- 6 degrees instead of +/- 2.

The probe I received was much bigger, threaded, and likely meant for a specific petcock or adapter to install in the block. I was able to work it into the fins securely enough as that was my only option. So far this works wonderfully when wired correctly. The wires to the fuses are pretty loose so a little epoxy was added. With a secure ground and an extra relay if you want another fan you should have no issues. AC switch and temp adjustment works as advertised.

The temperature is +/- 10-12 degrees sometimes and is sporadic in the set range. I do like the ease of the wiring though & for the price I can live with the variable temp. swing .

I only gave it a 3 star because the temp probe on the unit I got was not like it showed in the picture. The temp probe looked like it was made to screw into a coolant port but the wiring was fixed to the probe with no connector to disconnect it so the wires wouldn't get twisted up installing the probe. The probe did fit into the radiator fins and I was able to secure it into the radiator even though the hardware kit was missing from my order. I had to find a different place to mount the controller for 2 reasons, 1st off the hardware kit was missing so I didn't have the protective pads and mounting pins to secure the controller to the radiator, 2ndly the temp probe was not as shown in the product picture. This unit is working properly and was easily wired in so the fans would work when the A/C is used. If I hadn't previously been a professional mechanic until I retired I would have had to return the unit and got one that actually looked like the picture of the temp probe and been able to secure the probe for proper operation.

While I only have had installed for a week so far so good, takes a little bit of time getting the ON temp set correctly but once it's set it's Good to go. I placed the temp sending unit into the upper rad hose via a nifty little hose splice with 1/8 NPT hole and thread already pre drilled. Time will tell how long it lasts, I will update if and when problems arise.* update 9/21/19Well the relay started not working with out me holding pushed in place, I'm going to say it lasted 2 yrs without any issue but have to knock a star or 2 off because really feel like it should have lasted a bit longer than that. Going to search options, may or may not buy another one.

Well worth the money Hooked it up easily used all the wires & functioning just fine. Seems like decent quality, good wires on itRunning two fans on it pro tip from mechanicPut away from heat & water if you use the second option for fan the use another relay and use blue for triggering….
