Hayes brakes have fallen off of many rider's radars for some reason or another, however, we must remember that it was instrumental in bringing disc brake technology to mountain bikes over 20-years ago. The brand has plenty of experience in motorsports and the technology it brought to the table was truly game-changing. A lot has changed in 2 decades and in recent years, other brands have entered the fray and put Hayes on its back foot, but with the introduction of its new Dominion Disc Brake, it's slated to once again be a major player and has a brake that's packed with truly innovative features that's destined to put Hayes right back on the map. There are plenty of brakes on the market with outright stopping power, but the key to providing confident braking is making sure plenty of modulation and feel is built-in so it isn't so much of a light switch, on, off experience. Starting at the tool-free reach adjustable lever, Hayes employs cartridge bearings at the pivots to reduce drag and provide stiff points of contact so you get a positive lever feel with zero slop. The Dominion’s master cylinder is designed with an extremely short dead stroke and with its revised cam profile when the pads contact the rotor, it comes with a crisp bite point. Joining the master cylinder to the rest of the system is a flex-free hose and high-performance DOT 5. 1 brake fluid. Moving down to the caliper, it features cold-forged construction and is engineered to be as rigid as possible and utilizes four pistons to move the pads, again contributing to that excellent power and modulation. Even the KingPin pad retention bolt is designed as a structural member to help increase stiffness. Also at the caliper are our two favorite "why hasn't anybody else thought of this" features of this brake. The first is its Two-Stroke dual port bleed system on either side of the caliper. With two bleed ports, it ensures better bleeds and improves the ability to evacuate air making sure spongy brakes are...

I race enduro's and work at a bike shop I have owned these brakes for over a year now crashed them smacked them on trees and who knows what else/ THey have not messed up once and the only time I had to bleed them is when I switched them to another bike!

Delivered with 180mm rotors. Brakes are excellent. Power is equal to or better than my Hope E4 calipers with sintered pads. The feel and control is far superior to my guides that were replaced and the saints that came before that. They’re not the prettiest brakes, hope takes that for sure, but they are every bit the brake the hope is. We will see how they hold up in comparison to my hopes which have been bombproof.

First of all the add plainly states this "kit" comes with the rotor as Hayes requires a special rotor however it does NOT! Second all the information I've found says these are some of the best quality brakes you can buy however what I received was some cheap made junk the fluid reservoir cap is hard plastic and cheap cast aluminum where there is metal on them and lastely the paint was flaking off the caliper. These make my factory OEM stuff look "premium" lol and to make it worse it shipped in a plastic bag so now I have to go buy a box and find a printer so I can return this junk! As the seller will not allow the typical Amazon return drop of to a UPS store without a label or box!!

Crazy high quality on these brakes. I've been riding them for about a week now and they feel amazing. zincrediblw stopping power for something under 150. Ordered right/rear and they came with a 180mm rotor and brakes with extra line length if they need to be cut for shorter bike. The bolts were a little too long to use an is-pm adaptor, but otherwise an amazing product.

Sure was a relief to know that I could easily repair my Fisher Hardtail trail bike that was 15 years old!
