I was looking at some valves at the local hardware store, and I was amazed at how expensive they were. I think they wanted over $20 each for valves this size. They were also very stiff, you almost need a wrench or pair of pliers to turn the handles.I was very impressed with these in comparison, especially since they were so much cheaper. I have learned that Hayward equals quality when it comes to pool stuff.I put these right after my skimmer, and on my return line to make maintenance on my filter and salt-water system easier. These valves are great. They installed as expected, seal perfectly, and are easy to turn. I am very happy with them.

A couple of weeks ago I decided to open my pool because I had a little extra time on my hands. I noticed when I started to pull off my covers for the filter and the piping that some piping had cracked over the winter. I was going to have to replace the valve directly above the crack and I didn't want to go cheap like the previous owner. The old valves are atrocious and I have snapped several tabs on handles over the past 3 years. I ordered this Hayward valve and it works so well I might have to switch all of my valves over within the next couple of years.

Good quality ball valve, will work fine on my pool plumbing.Very good price too. Much less than the big box stores.

Decent valve for the money. I wouldn't call it industrial grade, but for a schedule 40 valve, (and less than half price) it is fine. Haven't had it for long, but what little I have used it, it was easy to turn, and shut off with no leaks, not even a drip. If it holds up, it will probably be a 5 star value.

I generally use the more expensive Hayward valves but I like these for the cheaper customers. Very well constructed and heavy duty.

It worked for the purpose, but the valve was pretty stiff and hard to turn. Perhaps this is intended? Anyway, I used it and it works.
