I'm on my second outlet from this manufacturer. Not because they broke, but because I keep finding new uses for them. This month, it's the Christmas lights on my house. I run them off an outdoor receptacle. Being able to turn them on and off with the remote is very convenient. I have another one for a string of patio lights in the back. That one has been rained on several times and it's held up perfectly. The construction is solid and I like that the 3-prong plug is angled. One thing to note: the battery comes with a thin plastic wrapper around it, which is easy to overlook. If you don't remove it, the remote won't work. So be sure to peel it off before you install the battery. I recommend this outlet, it's a good product.

I tow an enclosed 30 ft car trailer with my classic car inside. When pulling onto the highway, or slowing for railroad tracks etc. I wanted some way to warn motorists approaching from behind that I was not moving at highway speed or I was slowing for some reason. The trailer has good factory lights but I wanted to provide more visual indicators of my actions. I installed a pair of flashing red LED emergency vehicle lights on the rear of the trailer but needed a way to activate them when needed. Since my trailer has its own 110v power, I was able to use this remote switch mounted on my trailer and activate it with the small transmitter from inside my tow vehicle to control the auxiliary lighting. So far it has worked VERY well. I did test the range and I believe it to be close to the advertised useable distance. Very happy to have this remote switch system. If anything negative crops up I will amend this review but as of this time I am happy and satisfied.

Updates:I had Amazon replace the unit and the new one works as it should. I've have had this new unit for weeks and had absolutely zero issues. The battery idraining n the remote is no longer an issue. I'd also like to say that even though it took the companys customer service some time to get back to me (Amazon had already replaced the product) once the customer service was on it they were very thorough, reaching out numerous times to make sure i was happy and their product worked as it should. I could knock off a star I guess fir the inconvenience of getting a faulty remote but in the end these things happen and what is important is tgat the company and Amazon stood tall in making this right.Original review:I'm in the process of having this item replaced hoping that my experience with the product is due to a faulty product. When I received the 3 dual prong outlets and remotes I noticed that I almost threw away the shipping envelope in which it arrived, and accidentally the battery for the remote which was just laying in the bottom of the envelope as opposed to being in the box containing the outlets and remote. This first battery worked one time the same day I received the order, literally. I turned a water fountain on, then off, and by the next day the battery in the remote was dead. At this point I thought perhaps just a cheap "starter" battery as it wasn't a name brand so i went out and bought two brand new energizers. Put one in, and walla! the remote control worked again. So I turned my fountain on in the morning, and again off at night. The next morning I experienced the same issue with the remote being dead. So that is why I am rating the product one star at this point, it works great, but only for a day and batteries being priced at a little over a dollar each seems a bit extravagant in terms of cost and trouble. The really strange thing is that when the remote is being operated there is a red led that lights up when you press the on or off switch, so i don't understand what is drawing the current out of the remote if that light isn't lit (which it isn't...) So I have agreed to have Amazon send me another unit, and I will try this one out and see if my unit is just somehow a defected unit, and I will reevaluate either way. If it works for you, then it is a great value I think in terms of price. But for me a battery per day is just a pain.

I bought many other ones and noticed many of the older ones don't like to map to different channels and will communicate with each other. Other newer options tend to be over-complicated and require a phone wifi app. This is somewhere in-between those options and is a great middle ground device with simplicity of design and a lot of conveniences. I personally like the on/off design of the remote, because I have other family members who aren't as tech savvy as I am.It's not without its problems, but the problems are very minor issues:1. Short cord. This is also a pro for some people. Just be aware of it.2. The box is very bulky and will look odd in some situations. I do not recommend this for tight spaces or for distances.3. The weatherproof plug cover gets in the way of plugging things in sometimes. I noticed it's more of an issue when using both ports on the 2-port model. It's pretty easy to deal with otherwise.4. The remote sometimes doesn't come with batteries, and the required battery type is pretty uncommon, not a standard AAA battery. Still, it's easy to buy more batteries, and apparently, 1 battery is supposed to be included. I'd buy extras and play it safe.Again, it's a good product, despite the issues. I can't say I wanted to return it. I actually bought the 1-port model first and decided the 2-port model fit my needs better a week later, so I have both and will be using them both in different rooms. It's a great tool to cut down on energy costs and to make my laundry room easier to deal with. Highly recommend this product.

We had Christmas lights outside the house. To turn them on at the source meant going down a flight of stairs and outside. This wireless remote control absolutely made it convenient for us to turn the lights on and off efficiently. Being able to do this without going out in the cold was an absolute plus.The remote works well; I totally recommend this remote control!

I use this for my outside garage lighting and it works just great. The batteries in the remote seem to last forever. I've used this product for about a year now and it still works perfectly.

Used this remote in the attic with flashing Christmas lights to scare the squirrels out and sealed up the hole where they got in. Seems to be able to endure the cold temperatures in the attic. Straightforward operation and set up.
