When trouble shooting my mower with blades that didn't engage, I decided to upgrade to a higher quality pto switch while I had the dash apart. Though the oem switch checked OK, it is rated at 5 apps vs 10 amps of the HD switch. The oem switch has a loose feel to it as well and that could cause intermittent problems. This switch should last a long time and save a future head ache. Don't know why they moved the gas tank from under the seat to under the hood where blocks access to the dash switches and gauges. Bad design.

I installed this on a Cub Cadet 1525. It was a perfect fit. The best part is that it lets you mow in reverse!!!!!! This is great news in two ways. First, mowing in reverse can save time. Second, if you constantly have to re-engage the blades after reversing, this creates much more wear on the switch that you just replaced. So, it saves time and helps the switch last longer. Win-win! I put some dielectric grease on the contacts before installing, just to keep anything out of the contacts.

ours went out in our Cub Cadet so we ordered this one and my husband had it changed out with a couple minutes works great
