I have an older monitor that is still in excellent condition that supports DVI and SVGA connectors. When I got a new laptop with port replicator, the replicator only supported newer HDMI and DisplayPort video outputs. While one of my monitors supported HDMI, this other monitor only had DVI. Using this adapter, I was able to connect my DVI monitor to the DisplayPort connection on the port replicator and now happily have a dual-monitor setup again. It was cheap, easy to use, and did exactly what it purported to do.I did not test this with high-density video output such as you'd see for a large TV or entertainment system. For my setup, connecting my laptop to 2 monitors, it worked great and supported the maximum resolution of my old monitor perfectly with no issues.

I used this to extend the reach of a KVM cable with DVI ends to a newer widescreen format monitor that did not have the older DVI inputs, but only HDMI inputs. It works like a charm and gives me full native resolution for the monitor and the video card that drives it.

I got this converter for my Wacom Cintiq 22HD's built in DVI-D cable. Works exactly as advertised - gives me a 1080p signal when plugging into my laptop or my Steam Deck's HDMI-enabled dock. No visual quality is lost through conversion that I can tell, which is ideal since the Cintiq is an art monitor and visual fidelity is important.The product is straight-forward to use and the build quality is sound, which I can greatly appreciate for this very fair price

This worked great for connecting a DVI monitor to my laptop. If you need an adapter, there's no reason not to choose this one given the low price and high average rating.

For me, this adapter is not using the extra connector pins required to go above 1920x1080. It recognizes my Dell 3007WFP monitor but will not go to 2560x1600. This monitor and my dual-link DVI cable will do the full resolution on another computer with a dual-link DVI video card.
