What is Sterling Silver?
While pure silver can be combined with many different types of metals, Sterling Silver is created when combining pure silver with copper. Sterling Silver jewelry can be composed with different amounts of copper but is most often seen with the .925 stamp, meaning that the composition is of 92.5 percent silver and 7.5 percent copper. This has been found to be a good combination for maintaining the silver's durability without harming its sparkle.

Caring for Your Deluxe Sterling Silver Oval Miraculous Medal
Sterling Silver by nature will oxidize with the air and turn black creating a tarnish. To prevent this your jewelry has been treated with a special clear coat protective lacquer creating a barrier between the silver and the air. You should never use silver cleaning products as they will permanently damage this clear coat layer and cause the jewelry to tarnish. Silver cleaning products should never be used on Rhodium. You should also make sure your pendant does not come into contact with harsh household chemicals such as bleach, ammonia, or chlorine. To avoid scratches, store the pendant in the lined jewelry box provided, or similar box or soft pouch.
To remove finger marks, dust etc. simply use a microfiber cloth and the pendant & chain will quickly shine back up. If you notice any dirt build up you can simply wash the jewelry in a mild dish soap, dry off (do not use anything abrasive) and then shine up with the microfiber cloth.

Not knowing just how big or small this medallion would be on me I decided on the "men's" size. Best Decision EVER! Yes, it is certainly bigger than your typical dainty "ladies" pendant; but I wasn't looking for dainty or puny. The medallion arrived within days of order and I was thrilled when I opened the lovely jewelry case. The definition is intense! Every aspect, the lettering, the Lady, every detail, is so crisp and clear. Laser cut areas are highly reflective and practically *sparkle* in even low watt lighting. I LOVE wearing this stunning medallion! It's solid, too. That weightiness seems to lend it even more gravitas. Every time I gaze at it I'm overwhelmed with the desire to mentally recite a "Hail, Mary" prayer or the "Salve, Regina" (my favorite!). So, beyond being beautiful it enlivens a deep sense of gratitude and devotion. Awesome, right? Anyone gifted this amazing pendant will absolutely LOVE it!!Make sure to choose a good sized chain for this medal. It IS weighty and needs a heftier chain to accommodate that stress. The chain I went with is a sterling silver figaro style, 2.5mm. Anything less I think would be totally overwhelmed by the size of the medallion, both in looks and repeated, long term wear; I'd hate to lose this medal due to some random little clothing snag that would end up snapping a more delicate chain. There are lots of styles and sizes of chains to choose from, but in my opinion you're definitely better off not going with one that is too small or too fragile.

Amazon has several versions of the miraculous medal to choose from. This one was the most expensive, but by far, the best looking. I really like the detail. It is even nicer in hand than on screen. Nice size, and good weight. Beautiful finish. The chain is stainless, but I didn't choose it for the chain. I'll get a sterling chain from elsewhere. Very pleased with purchase

I've purchased many of these.They are perfect for a man, but I think also for a woman.They are large and the detail is excellent. Good quality silver.

I gave out several forChhristmas to my sons. One son had difficulty getting it over his head, another son said his broke when he tried to put it on. I have had to send longer chains with all those I gave as gifts.

Medal appears to be good quality as advertised. The "endless" rhodium / no-clasp chain (24") appears so far to be a decent piece as well, and did manage at 24" to be comfortably (if careful) removed and put on (I do this for certain exercises and showers).Based on my size, if I had it to do over again, I would likely look for and order a 26" endless chain. Men, if you are large and/or wear glasses, 26" chain (if available) might work better for you, if you're the type guy who whips chains on & off quickly for showers, exercise etc, wants to keep on his glasses, and want to minimize wear & tear on the chain over the years. But that said, the 24" chain works just fine. If it fits me it will likely fit almost everyone.Arrived on time as promised in and containing a nice quality little blue jewelry box/case. Mine was a darker blue.All-in all, a great purchase to replace the Miraculous Medal I had purchased at The Chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal in Paris on rue du Bac, that I unfortunately lost back in 2007 while jogging (clasp was weak). This medal I purchased from Men's Deluxe appears to be of higher quality that my original medal that I purchased in Paris.Time will tell down the road if the medal maintains it's luster. It will be a challenge, as I for some reason have skin oil on my hands and elsewhere that is acidic enough to do "The Alien" proud.I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quality Miraculous Medal. The 24" rhodium chain should work fine for most folks.

I finally found the perfect size pendant! This is a very practical choice specially for men looking for a pendant that is not hollow or petite. It has good diamond cut shimmer, and good weight to it. For its price it is the perfect size and look for my white gold, diamond cut, rope necklace. Highly recommended for Catholic men looking for a good size pendant of our Blessed Mother.

I was really surprised to see the workmanship and detail of this pendant. It also has a very nice feel to it....Not too light and not to heavy. This is a beautiful pendant and so glad I went with it.
