I have an older "frost free" hydrant that will still freeze over if temps get below 10 degrees.We have to water livestock daily and carrying 5 gallon buckets from the house to the field is not an option!This worked perfectly this past week with 10 degrees and lower temps all week we even had 1 night -15 degrees and we didn't lose water access.I highly recommend. It has a lighted plug so you know for certain that the heat tape is getting power and working properly!

Best thing I ever got for PVC in cold weather. It was 16 degrees and the float valve plus water never stopped flowing

Making sure the thermostat is not turning off due to the cable making it think itรขโฌโขs warm is a lesson we had to learn, we ended up leaving the thermostat out in the air to make sure it stayed on and the hose didnรขโฌโขt freeze. So far we have had a few below freezing days, we turn the hose on and it works. The first little bit of water that comes out is even warm, which helps if we have frozen water buckets. We have only had it for a month or two but so far works great and for the price cheaper than buying an insulated hose by far!
