They reduce radiant heat from entering the driver's compartment and stops radiant heat damage to other vehicle components. The outer armor of this exhaust heat shield allows it to be cleaned after installation, gives it a long lifespan, and also makes Heatshield Armor resistant to the elements. The inner ceramic liner makes it capable of withstanding 1800° Fahrenheit continuous, which allows this heat shield to be placed directly on headers, turbo manifolds, down pipes, muffler, DPF, genset and exhaust pipes. It is flexible, easy to cut and install. Heatshield recommends the 1/2 inch thick Heatshield Armor for forced induction and racing applications.

I didn't use but a few of the extra zip ties but glad I had them I used this product on my headers and it was pretty straight forward to install following the instructions and seems to work well and looks good. I had a piece leftover and put on my cat converter that is directly under the transmission and noticed a 20 degree drop in trans temps.

Material works good i was having problems with heat soak. On the tripple webbers. Wear gloves n glases . creates fiber dust when u cut it. Droped the temps way down and now my electric fans dont run as much. I think if the white material was woven more. It would be better so it wouldnt brake up as much when cutting it. Over all i would recomend this product

Its not good for a car has the spark plugs upper the headers !

Packaging. Ease of use. The sheet i bought did only 1 of 2 long tube headers on my gto. Would reccomend completly removing manifold depending on vehicle. Take your time and measure your pieces first. Significantly helped starter heat soak.

This product is easy to install and works really well for heat and sound insulation. It only comes with a 1/4 of the required zip ties though.

This stuff is THICK. I bought the 12 inch variety to cover my catalytic converter and the ties were too short. So you may want to keep this in mind if your application is 3" or bigger, and get some 20" ties.
