Face the aluminized side toward the source of radiant heat to shield heat away. This product withstands 1100 degree F of radiant heat (requires minimum of 1" of airspace) and up to 450 degree F of direct heat. This is perfect for using underneath your floor pan to shield heat from your DPF, muffler, catalytic converter, and exhaust system, or it can be used on your firewall to shield motor heat. It can also be used as a cold air intake heat shield, stick this onto your metal or plastic air box to stop heat from heating up your intake. This stuff worked well for making a replacement heat shield for the A/C on my Blazer when I destroyed the original doing a repair. It cuts easily and is flexible and easy to manipulate.Keeps whatever's behind it cool and safe.

The heat shield is pretty good, the adhesive is mediocre - after about 1-month use the heatshield is loosing adhesion to the underside of the transmission tunnel (1978 Chevy Blazer). Used on top of Henry's elastomeric coating infused with insulation micro beads (poor man's Lizard Skin) it made a solid 50+ degree change in the temperature of the floorboard = highly recommend! Just might consider using a serious spray adhesive, not just relying on the self-stick backing for long-term holding power. But overall, and especially for the cost, a great product IMO.

This was purchased to line a stainless steel heat shield for my sports car. The stainless heat shield gets very hot under the hood (it shields the carburetors from the heat of the exhaust manifold inches below them) but it, too gets hot and radiates heat after a bit of driving.I cut out and attached the heat shield mat on BOTH sides of the SS shield and then taped the edges with aluminum tape to keep it from unravelling. After a year of service, it still looks great and hasn't lost its grip from the heat. And by the way - even after an hour of driving the upper side of the shield is just warm not hot, so this stuff works. Good bye vapor lock!There was plenty of material in the sheet - after I was done, I gave the balance to another sports car owner and he did his heat shield as well.

Had issue with weak in-tank fuel pump during track days. Found out large area of fuel tank is exposed and heat up by engine heat/turbo causing fuel pump get hot and weak. Stick the heat shield on fuel tank, amazingly the car run its record breaking 30 laps without issue with the fuel pump. It such a great product. Very satisfied with the outcome. Looking forward to get one for header and downpipe.

With the sticky back and EZ to cut installation was a breeze. Seemed to knock down a lot of heat that creeps in when riding my RZR.

Used this to replace the lining under the tank of my motorcycle. The old one started to peel at the edge so it was time to replace the stock one.It cut well and the adhesive was good and sticky. Still hanging in there after a summer of hot riding.

Would have rated it zero stars if that were an option. The product did not come in a smooth roll, as pictured, but in a lumpy folded packet. We had hoped to apply it to the side of our refrigerator, which because of the compact kitchen, is next to the stove. This looked in the product specs like a great option, but it was terrible. There was no way to smooth the lumpy folds and so we ended up just throwing it away. This might be a possibility where aesthetics are not important, but the product should NOT be depicted as arriving on a roll....
