I took a leap of faith buying this last year, but I needed something to hold garlic and onions and to ripen tomatoes. We live in an old, old house and the cool room I keep non-refrigerated produce in during the winter gets too hot for good storage starting in May, so I was looking for an alternative that has good air circulation. I was dubious about getting this basket, as I had seen so many very inadequate versions, but I decided because of the reviews and am glad I did. I was a bit confused untangling it, but once I figured that the that the clasps that hold the baskets should attach to the chain at the narrow end and to the basket at the wide end, it wasn't hard at all. I hung the basket in the kitchen window and have been very pleased with it. I'm writing this review now because I'm buying a second one so I can store potatoes and sweet potatoes in the same way. I have no question about getting this model again. It's tough, sturdy, surprisingly good looking, and works very well for me.One year-ish later: The three-tier hanging basket continues as an active part of the ebb and flow of my kitchen through the seasons. No changes or problems with it. It hangs in a window where it holds garlic (though the garlic "paper" drifts through the sides, so I've learned that the bulbs I've opened need to sit in a little container to prevent that mess), it ripens tomatoes and provides good air circulation for onions. It's sturdy, it looks good, is handy access and works well. This year, I bought a second one to handle overflow from the garden. It's currently loaded with tomatoes waiting to be turned into sauce and a cantaloupe I bought too green. I have also used it to ripen peaches. When I bought the second basket, I was surprised to find it was a larger size than the first - I just didn't look carefully before buying. Since it's in a different room than the first, there's no problem with the size difference, and I'm glad to have a larger basket. This basket I'll take down and put away when I bring in my hanging plants for the winter. I highly recommend these hanging baskets.

This is a nicely designed and very sturdy hanging basket set which easily eclipses the wire mesh-style one we had in our kitchen for several years until it met one too many sweet potatoes one day. However - and this is where I think a lot of the negative reviews come in - the hanging chains and specifically the clips that attach them to the baskets themselves become tangled during shipping (or perhaps weren’t assembled correctly at the factory to begin with) - which means it requires a bit of disassembly and reassembly before it hangs properly. In particular, the clips that attach the bottom basket to the chains must be oriented in a proper position so the basket hangs evenly - see photo for the way they should look. (Out of the box two of the three clips on that bottom basket were upside down in my set, which made the whole thing uneven and unsteady.) The chains must also lie flat in order for the set to hang properly, and again out of the box some of the rings in each chain were a bit tangled and uneven. Fortunately it’s an easy fix that can be accomplished by taking two minutes between unboxing the item and hanging/filling it up to make sure everything is straightened out and attached properly.

It works well for us only having a bag of fruit on the bottom, a couple of potatoes and onions in the 2nd bowl and several garlic bulbs up top. It looks very pretty too.

Great basket to hang for multiple items. I have several of them. The storage capacity is great. I keep onions, garlic and shallots in one. The other has Lemons, oranges and Bananas. Super easy to install grab an I hook and drill a hole for it.I love the color of it. The black blends with any color of cabinets. Great value. I will probably buy another down the road.

I bought this basket a couple years back and loved it. Recently, I had left potatoes in the bottom basket for far too long. When I went to lift the bag, about half a gallon of rotten juices poured out! 🤢 The smell was so overwhelmingly wretched that I just threw the whole basket in a bag and threw it out. Lol! Trust me, it was worth every penny to just buy another one.So, lesson learned; take your potatoes out of the bag they come in and make sure to check them periodically.

Mounting this was a little annoying as the chains were fairly tangled, but once it was hung, it works fine. We're just using it in our storage room to store onions and potatoes.

Love these baskets in my kitchen that hang on the ceiling above our island. Separate the various fruits in 3 baskets. We have plenty of space now on our counter. A great idea to keep your fruits from turning ripe quickly. Of course install these baskets away from the sun!

Chain was a bit weak, broke within a few days, and didn’t even have much in it...bought new stronger chain at the hardware store for about $6 and replaced it all...nice and sturdy now...works great! Keeps my fruit off my counter like I wanted!
