Opening inside the loop is probably 1.25â€. I soaked in vinegar for 30 minutes to take off shine. Ordered 50. 3 of them were not tapped properly (the screw hole was not drilled properly so a male screw would not seat properly. Had to use a re-chase the hole with a tap and die)

I purchased these for a project and man they are built very good. I was impressed and didn't expect them to be as thick as they are and using a grade 8 bolt to secure them you would have to weld them to make it any stronger. Overall this is a great product and I'm recommending them, as for testing strength well I hope I don't have a chance to break one because I think it will withstand a tremendous force. Good price good product.

These half inch threaded eyes are a well made item. The hot dip galvanization leaves them with a bright chrome-like finish. The threads are cut clean and easy to twist onto a bolt by hand. I have no doubt they are capable of their WLL of 2250 lb. In the coming days they will be put to the test when attached to a 2000 lb forklift counter weight and lifting it off the machine. If any issues arise this review will be amended.Well made product, fair price, recommend their purchase/use.
