This swivel is not quite as heavy and the metal is slightly thinner than the one I'm replacing, but it seems sturdy and the swivel turns smoothly. The holes in my bar stool didn't line up with the holes in the swivel but that was not a real problem since I could drill new holes in the seat, and expand the legs by modifying the lower braces. The original lasted 30 years. If this lasts half as long I'll be more than satisfied.

I've been living with a bar stool that would not turn because the swivel was warped. I purchased this replacement swivel and it's like magic! Works like a charm, no noise with swiveling and moves freely!

This was exactly the part I needed. This felt like a more solid version than the original piece my chair had which was too loose with bearings. This one may feel a bit more friction at first but it's buttery once you sit and turn.

I bought one of these (10") to check fit and see if I would like it. It took about 5 seconds of evaluation after installation to know I love it, and I ordered two more. Can't comment yet on how it will do after a couple of years of use, but it is a quantum improvement over the factory swivels that came with my barstools. Installation was easy, however I did have to provide some hex nuts since my previous swivels had threaded holes. That's not a knock off though. Obviously there is no way that you could make a swivel that adapts to a wide variety of stools without using slots for the screws. Just make sure you have the hardware on hand when your swivels are delivered and you will love them.

Definitely a worthwhile purchase and solid steel composition so weight bearing concerns were thrown out the window. This steel swivel base was used for a welding shop and swivels perfectly with heavy weight. In my application it was used for 250lbs and still rotated with ease.

Making a fur tumbler. (Check out on line) Removed the centre rivet ending up with two plates. Welded 5/8†rod on each plate. Centered on 55 gal. plastic barrel and bolt them on each end. Worked perfectly.
