This works way easier than a king pin with a ring on it. Small and light which makes it nice to store, doesn't roll around the truck bed

This is a perfect addition to the fifth wheel hitch to remove it from the pickup. A great help.

Summary:The hook is well-constructed with heavy-grade steel, and the welds are of good quality. It saved me a ton of time, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who uses a hoist to load their fifth-wheel hitch. It was easy to use and did a great job both installing and removing the hitch from our truck. Great value and a back-saver!Details:This hook has proven to be an excellent option for lifting the fifth-wheel hitch into the back of my truck. The B&W hitch (with slide) we use weighs over 300 lbs. To insert the hook into the kingpin slot, I had to pull and hold the release while dropping the hook into the hitch. [Side note: We also tried it with a friend's Reese fifth-wheel hitch and found it a bit easier to get the hook loaded and secured in the kingpin slot.] In both cases, the hook was solid, locking fully into place for secure lifting.Previously, I had been using chains with an engine hoist to lift the heavy hitch into the truck bed. Once in the bed, I had to maneuver the hitch into place on the rails to install the retaining pins—a difficult task for someone with a bad back.Using the fifth-wheel lift hook is a game-changer. It eliminates the need for chains and allows the hitch to be positioned directly over the mounting rails. The hitch can be lowered straight into the rails, making it ready for the retaining pins. Removing and storing the hitch is just as quick and easy. Not only did this hook save my back from significant strain and pain, but it also removed the dread I used to feel when preparing for a trip. I absolutely recommend this product to anyone who uses a hoist to lift their hitch in and out of their truck. The time saved alone makes it a worthwhile purchase!

This is a great concept, but it is difficult to use. Mostly, it is difficult to get this bracket into the jaws of the hitch. Maybe it is just my curt hitch, but I don't have another to try.I think it would be easier if it were completely round like the kingpin instead of cross welded flat plates to go into the jaw.Once it is in, it works just fine. It is definitely heavy enough to lift a 5th wheel hitch. Even with the difficulty getting it into the jaws of the hitch, it is still easier using the tractor to lift the hitch than trying to man-handle the thing. So this is an iffy buy. If you are young and strong and always have a second person around to help get the hitch in and out of the truck, this may not be for you. I am usually alone and not that young any more, so it is helpful. I'll probably look for one that is a solid round piece to put in the jaws of the hitch as I think that will be easier.

This clamped right into the received and I was able to easily pick the hitch up. Nice finish and should last a long time.

Having a 5th wheel hitch in the truck bed gets annoying at times when you need to use the bed while not towing. The hitch is very heavy and very difficult to remove or install alone. This tool is the answer to that problem. I can use my engine hoist to lift the hitch in and out.The tool is simple but it works excellent. The tool locks into the jaws of the hitch just like a king pin. It features a lifting hook. The material is excellent and the welds look very nice. The cost is very reasonable at $15 too. 5 stars for quality and value.

This is one heavy duty hitch lifter! Made of 3/8" steel plate and it weighs 2lbs 4oz. The hitch jaws fit the lifter with a little looseness. No problem lifting the hitch with the ceiling mounted cable hoist. This is the lifter to get if you are making an easier way to install and remove your 5th wheel hitch from your truck bed. Its simple and it works!
