The advertisement is accurate.Let me start by saying that this tool will never see use with a horse. Instead, it’s in my tool box. I got tired of always going to my flathead screwdrivers to do misc. pry/scaping/etc jobs around the shop/house. So, I decided to give this a whirl. Am very happy I did.Pros:+ Made of stainless steel;++ Heavy duty build (10.8 oz, About 5.5†long end to end the middle “handle†is about 4â€)+ The “pick†end is not sharp and comes to a rectangular point of about 1/8†x 1/16â€+ The sharp-ish end is about 1†across+ I’ve already used this to, are you sitting, as a marlin spike, a make-shift handle to carry a bundle of firewood, to split some kindling, to chisel some fence picket material, to scrape out a corner in a gutter I was fixing, to scrape off some drying concrete from another tool.Cons:- None for now. It’s living happily in my tool box.Bonus – my flathead screwdrivers are very happy with this tool. 😊

This is a heavy duty tool I added to my daughter's farrier kit. She's been learning to improve her skills after our last farrier moved. This tool hasn't been used with shod horses as we don't need shoes on any at this time. Some have gotten shoes when they will be away and on different grounds. This will be handier then but for now it's still handy. I was surprised at the weight but makes me believe this will last a long time.

Like it arrived in a protective sleeve, but its plastic, and movement from shipping it already broke the sleeve, holes in seam. Its good enough for work, or as a spare tool in barn.

I do not think there is one thing from this brand that we have not been happy with. This is very well made and heavy duty feeling. Works wonder for getting rocks out of hard as heck mustang hooves in the sugar sands of texas.

Just needed a new one, and it feels and looks nice like this company's other EQ tools. Makes cleaning off hooves easier without having to dull your actual blade.

This clinch cutter has an edge that's not crazy sharp but it's perfect for getting under nail clinches and cutting through them (with a hammer blow) or bending the clinch so nails can be extracted smoothly without damaging the hoof wall.It's supposed to be heavy enough to bend and cut steel nails but not so heavy that it causes hand fatigue. This clinch cutter fits the bill.
