The diffuser plate fit my Austin XL pellet grill and was easy to install. I didn’t remove the flame broiler plate, I removed the grates and slid it to the right then installed the plate.

This works great in blocking the heat from reaching the temperature gauge directly. My grill is showing a much more accurate temperature.

I have no doubt that this product will work just fine. However, I literally just got it today and took it out of the package and it’s rusty. It’s about 85 degrees and sunny today, plus it’s packed in plastic,so I know it didn’t get wet. Why rusty????

I saw that this Heat Diffuser Plate was compatible for my pellet smoker so I decided to pick it up and install it on my grill. Its worked wonders for helping to maintain a more accurate temperature reading in the barrel of my smoker. The installation of the plate was easy as there are strong magnets that hold it in place while allowing for easy screw insertion. Since the smoker drip plate is curved, this heat diffuser plate covers the gap between the side wall and the bottom of the drip plate, allowing for better sealing of the drum so that pellet ash doesn't come up to the food when the door is opened. The plate also keeps the temperature probe from being exposed to more direct heat which provides a more reliable internal temp reading. I've smoked a few things since adding this plate and it's made the smoking process work a lot more smoothly. Still have a few more cooks to see if this plate really and truly makes a difference, but thus far I'm satisfied.

Fits like a glove and evened out the temperature. Was having issues with the temp display being higher than the actual grill temp, the insert solved the issue with far less temperature swings.

Product is magnetic and easily slides into place. Came with bolts but they seem to be unnecessary and didn’t use them.
