I recently purchased the Hedoc Fake Owl Decoys, and they’ve been incredibly effective in keeping birds away from my garden! I like this decoy as it has a rotating head that moves when there is a breeze. I’m using it to keep predators away from my koi pond. It comes with mounting screws and I mounted it to a heavy piece of wood so I can easily move it around so predators don’t get used to seeing it in the same place. There is a hole on the base if you want to mount the decoy on a pole. It is very lightweight so mounting is recommended. The owl looks more lifelike than other decoys I’ve used before. I’m using this decoy in addition to other types of methods as I’ve read that multiple deterrents worker better than just one standalone deterrent. I would buy this decoy again.

purchased to try and scare of a woodpecker damanging my house...took all of 20 minutes after installing the owlfor the woodpecker to come back and start pecking away less than 5 feet from the owl.on the plus side...none of the desireable song birds are scared off either.thing is pretty much useless

The owl itself is okay. The head didn't spin freely upon arrival, but it's simply attached to a spring and lifting up on the the head about an inch or so a few times stretched the spring just enough to allow the head to spin freely again. The installation screws are woeful. They are, imho, about 1/2 inch too short and they strip easily. Use your own if you have some. Nature is fickle, so there's no telling if this owl will work well enough to scare away our fall wood pecker. Let's hope so.Update: There were two species of woodpeckers knocking at our siding. The larger species disappeared immediately, but the smaller species kept poking about for about a day or two, switched sides of the house he poked at, and then disappeared.

PERFECT! I got this so that it will scare those sneaky sparrows away from eating the fruits from my trees. It looks scary! The head moves with the slightest breeze or movement making it even more realistic. The paint is really realistic and well done. It is made out of plastic of high quality materials. Good buy!

I rarely do reviews, but feeding two feral cats in our backyard has attracted lots of messy birds!!! Poop everywhere, constantly cleaning (ewwww!) We had to take the cat bowls inside as soon as they finished eating. We then learned about the owl being a natural predator of pigeons and decided to try these fake owls. To our delight, IT WORKS!!!! As a test, I even left the food bowls out all day. NOT ONE BIRD even sitting at the top of our shed or roof above the owl. We are thrilled, as my husband was talking about getting an exterminator to get rid of the birds. I didn't want to kill them, just have them go away. We will place owl #2 in our pool area. We are thrilled with this purchase.

I feed birds in my garden but they were going into the neighbours garden, this has solved the problem, moving round the garden each day has stopped the birds going into neighbours garden

Put this fake owl up to hopefully scare the pigeons away from our pergola, one day later they’ve obviously realised it’s fake! Don’t waste your money on this.
