Assembly was basically self explanatory. The measurement is accurate and easy to read. The font size is good for most people. The actual measuring bar moves up and down somewhat smoothly. The column is aluminum, not plastic.There are only couple of issues I have with this device. The measuring bar positions itself along the vertical column with plastic band with some curve. The friction created by that bent plastic is the main stopping force. I think it is little. When it moves over the column joints, it sometimes gets stuck mildly.The other issue is the imperial measurement only lists inches and no indicator for each feet. That is I like to read 5 feet and 11 inches rather than 71 inches. But there is no feet indicator.Overall, this is a good actual metal height measurement device. It's a good buy.

This height measuring pole just works. It's accurate, but the "cursor" bar that touches your head does have a built in adjustment to fine tune it. The "fixer" bar at the top does help with stability, leaning against a wall & can be used facing the front/back; or to a side. The wall "fixer" bar doesn't attach when it's broken down for storage. So, I used a rubber band to attach it to one of the poles.I checked the height with 2 different tape measures to make sure it was right. I mainly had to do that to prove to people using it that it was accurate. Everyone that was a teenager, or older, didn't want to believe it was correct. Keeping a tape measure to prove the base to the "cursor" bar is the same measurement, as the measurement on the pole, might be a good idea. Bad posture, slouching and gravity aren't fun. Almost no one to use it was the same height as they thought they were, but you can prove it's accurate. It's a cool device for kids, grand-kids, neighbors & your friends to use. Knowing your height accurately is important for more than just your drivers license. It's used by doctors, apps, and health calculators; to help you determine your BMI, Calorie needs, Body Fat, BMR, etc.

This comes in pieces and as a result, you have to calibrate the height before use. Once assembled, which is relatively easy, it does seem to flop around a bit too much.

I got this to measure my growing child rather than marking on my wall, which I also came to realize that I can't take it with me if we move. This device marks a height and it stays there until you move it again, which is nice and so much easier than using a tape measure against a wall. This was very easy to assemble and I didn't need any instructions. The instructions aren't clear English so reading them is more funny than anything else. I believe it's accurate in the measurements, give or take 1-2 millimeters. The instructions say the margin of error is 0.2 - 0.5 CM. It is very lightweight and easy to move it around. Storage is all about having a tall ceiling because this is very tall - just over seven feet. The marking on it are just inches and centimeters, feet are not marked. My only negative is from the shipping/packaging. This was overly packaged in an unnecessary, large cardboard box. The device itself comes packaged in a well tapped-up cardboard box that can withstand shipping all by itself. It did not need to be placed into another big box, which was wasteful.

This aluminum alloy height measurement tool is so incredibly handy to have. I've decided I won't be adding the top frame piece as I really want to keep this measurement tool mobile. Assembly was very easy, just slide the pieces in with a plastic joiner. The top head piece allows you to adjust for any minor differences. I also love that this tool is very light weight and can be quickly broken down to travel with.

This height measuring device is very similar to the one used by the nurses in my doctor’s office. I plan to use this one in our nursery to track the kids’ growth. This will be less “old school†than marking their heights on the wall or door jamb, but it will be more convenient and a good conversation piece. 5 stars!
