Helle is a great knife. They are famous for the triple laminated blades which this does NOT have but the blade is very sharp, should be easy to sharpen and has a beautiful handle. It is not as flexible as I like in a fillet knife but very strong for a narrow blade.

I have several fish knives like this, but this one really shines! I have put all the others aside now and now this is my "go to" for fishing. I might add that if you plan on taking on anything larger than a bass, you might want a longer blade. But for what I use it for, it's a perfect size and fits in any tackle box i have.

This is my fifth knife from Helle. I love them. They’re fantastic.Why? They’re sharp, they’re rugged, and they’re beautiful. They’re also workable knives that should last a lifetime or better.This is true for this one as well, but I knocked a star for the sheath.All my other knives — Fossekallen, Rein, Nord, Utvaer — all have consistent attention to detail through and through, including the sheath. On this one, there is a bit of overlap in the leather, making the sheath look somewhat clumsy. It’s a minor, minor issue and doesn’t affect the performance. Purely cosmetic. But, at $114, the QA could’ve been better here.Couldn’t fix it? Sure. But do I want to at this price point? No.Since the knife is seemingly perfect, I’m going to keep it.

I purchased this knife for my Father in Law (one of my favorite fishing partners in the world) and it exceeded my expectations. In addition to being an extremely sharp, well designed blade, it is also beautiful. The lines of the blade, the quality of the sheath, and above all - the beautiful handle - make this the nicest filet knife I've ever held. I own a half dozen filet knives (including an expensive Wusthof) and this is much nicer than all of them.There are cheaper filet knives in the world that will do the same job, but if you want to give someone who fishes something special (or if you like having the best), this is your knife.

Bought as a Christmas gift for my hubby. He absolutely loves it. Very sharp! He’s cleaned several deer & hogs with it & is very happy with the performance!

I don't usually write reviews, but this knife warranted one.I was super excited when I opened it, the knife is gorgeous and the wooden handle is amazing. HOWEVER it is just..... COMICALLY unsharp. As if this is a decorative knife. Maybe I got a defective one, but that highlights bad QC processes. Iwas hoping this could replace my Zwilling boning knife (which is $30 cheaper), but no dice.This knife struggled to cut watermelon easily, it's truly baffling how a knife like this can be so dull. Directly comparing the Zwilling to this back to back felt like using a scalpel, followed by an imitation knife. To be clear, the quality of steel is very good, so you could probably whetstone this knife to have a decent edge, but out of the box, sharpness was laughable.

I was a little skeptical about the price on this knife as most popular fillet knives are priced much lower than this one. However, after receiving and using it; all that I can say is that it is the best fillet knife I have ever used. It came out of the box extremely sharp and it holds an edge well. I have noticed no dulling since using it. If you are worried about paying too much; don't, you will be satisfied with this purchase. This is my second Helle Knife and all that I can say is that they make a very high quality product. The fit and finish on the knife is second to none as well.

Bought this knife based on the good reviews. The knife edge was super dull and actually had serrations from the grinding wheel. Also the blade is super stiff and not good for panfish. Very disappointed in helle. Returned the knife and went elsewhere.

habe dieses messer für meinen mann zum geburtag gekauft, da er begeisterter angeler ist und mal wieder ein neues filetiermesser wollte. und was soll ich sagen? er ist begeistert. gute schärfe, und auch sonst nix zu beanstanden. würde es immer wieder kaufen.

I have been a fan of Helle knives for quite some time now and have always been delighted at the quality and finish of their products. I received my latest addition yesterday and I am not disappointed! The handle has such a tactile quality that is an almost reverent experience. The blade is just stunning in stainless steel and as I have come to expect from Helle, razor sharp from the word go. If yoiu are in the market for a knife of this type, treat yourself to one of these, you will not regret it!
