I bought this for the high school robotics team to be the heart valve of a t-shirt air cannon for use at football games and Mardi Gras parades. With about 60 psi and 80 milliseconds valve open time and properly rolled shirts, we could put them in the upper rows of the stadium. We never did try to figure out the switching time, but it's a very few milliseconds, both open and close, which helped us get more launches from a tank of pressurized air.Note - not for continuous use in the open position - if you want that, get a motorized one which switches more slowly but doesn't use power to hold position.

(12V 3/4 NPT version) I used on my home cold water supply line (so ~60PSI). It works as intended and is overall a pretty simple design. Rubber diaphragm attached to a metal rod that is electromagnetically pulled in and out. The rubber (which looks like Buna or EPDM) is very likely going to be a weak point that goes bad after several years and can't really be replaced since it's crimped to the metal actuation piece.Problems: this thing gets hot. Really hot. I measured 170F after a while. So hot you can in the entire room smell the magnet coil wiring off-gassing. Solenoids like this get hot because it's part of how electromagnets behave. However, I would bet that this causes premature failure on the voltage regulator that is probably built in because there's no real heatsinking outside of the smooth metal case. I *highly* recommend you install a fan to blow air on this if you plan on having it run for extended periods of time.I keep all my reviews updated so if there's no "EDIT's" here then assume it's still working fine for me.EDIT: looks like they use mild steel springs in these things....so they rust and want to bind up. Don't leave this thing 24/7 in the "on" position or you won't be able to shut it off.

Perfect for air horns. AC or DC.

I had to use a filter before this valve otherwise it will hang up on you and you have to take apart and clean.

I bought this for a propane switch but it reduced the flow enough that the system would no longer run. But my lack of experience with converting a riding mower to propane and safely is more the reason why. This is why there are actual engineers working these things out for each application. The problem is that the accurate information just isn't easily available and you tube is NOT the right place to learn this from, depending on your point of view. Most of the conversions are for generators, not riding mowers, especially 2 cylinder engines. The right and safe parts for these conversion are way too costly or just not available for your application. The ones I had found were over $500.00 and a different engine.

Bought this to replace an air horn solenoid that stopped working. I'm also going to replace my regulator, it seems to drift 40 psi from how I set it. I'm like it at 60 psi, it drifts down to 40 psi and my horn sounds horrible. When it drifts up to 80 the solenoid won't open. This solenoid opens at much higher psi so a wondering regulator isn't a problem. Eventually I'll get around to replacing the regulator but until then this is a great solenoid

Es de muy buen material, resistente a presión de aire, la uso en untanque de aire para una corneta, funciona excelente.
