Big box stores were out of both the 3/8" NPT and the 1/4" NPT locally, so ordered this & a 1/4 as well. Appearance wise, this looks like a better quality tap than the Irwin's I usually buy at half the price.Performance wise, cutting edges are nice, clean, and sharp while lacking the burrs that I normally find on the Irwin taps. This made tapping polycarbonate a beautiful thing, it cut so clean and smooth, it barely took any effort!!! Definitely makes up for the price difference for tapping plastics & hard woods.

Tapped 2 coolant drains in an engine block with no problems. Still seems to be sharp and in good shape.

Had a machine shop use this to tap a brake caliper for a bleeder valve repair kit and it did the job perfectly fine with no visible damage to the tool. The repair is holding up after a month or so with no sign of any leakage.

Great price for a HSS tap in this size. Threads look well made and sharp. Only issue is a few spots of rust. Should have had a protective/oil coating.

Super sharp tap. Cuts super clean threads. Power tapped 8 holes in 6061T6 aluminum. Tap still looks and cuts like new.

Appears well made, and the one I received is TiN coated. I’m only tapping plastic 3D printed parts, but it’s working great for that.

Product intended to tap 304 Stainless; I'll try, but if this breaks, I'll have to buy an extraction set. Guess from whom I'm not buying that?
