the arbor on the particular drill chuck that was replaced by the one purchased was a pain to get out of my tail stock on my wood lathe. with the tang end with this one, no knock out bar needed.

I installed this on my WEN benchtop drill press. I wanted a JT 33 chuck that didn't require a key, was more robust than the OEM chuck and this tang was required in order to use the JT33. I love have both this tang and the JT33 chuck. I haven't had any tension issues and the machining is very high quality. No complaints. Works as advertised.

finish is very good, but runout is 0.009 to 0.011 on Jt33 and 0.009 on the 1/2" shoulder close to the Jt33.In same collet, a fairly straight 5/8" Forstner bit (amazing how many Chinese bits aren't really, really straight), registered within 0.005 at the end. The Chinese Forstner bit shank measured 0.002 an 1/8 from the collet edge when that is to check the collet. Ironically, the 1/2" shank on this adapter was actually off a more. It seems to be slightly out of round.I got this to quickly install a drill chuck rather than change to collet assembly for not really critical work. It will work OK for that. Secondarily, it was to be for checking runout at the collet. Turns out not to even be as good as a cheap Chinese drill bit.BTW, chucked a US long shank 1/2" bit and it measured less than 0.0005 on the dial indicator 2" out from the collet end.I truly hope the Chinese build their military equipment to the same standards they make drill bits and ball point pens. ;)

I bought this item and then shortened the 1/2" shaft by half to conveniently hold it in a 1/2" drill chuck to give my 1/2" drill 3/4" chuck capacity. It works perfectly. The combination has very little runout.

I was looking to add a drill chuck to my lathe's tailstock and found this which would allow me to use a chuck I got a while back with my lathe. The J33 fits the chuck snuggly and the MT1 taper fits my tailstock very well. When I upgrade my lathe to something with a MT2 tailstock I will adapt this to fit with an MT1-MT2 taper adapter. Excellent value!
